Re: Question about Joe Rogan...

Sanders is regularly attacked by the other nominees for being too lax on gun control and for being anti-confiscation. So it isn't that surprising.

I don't support Bernie but that's just not true. From his website:

  • Take on the NRA and its corrupting effect on Washington.
  • Expand background checks.
  • End the gun show loophole. All gun purchases should be subject to the same background check standards.
  • Ban the sale and distribution of assault weapons. Assault weapons are designed and sold as tools of war. There is absolutely no reason why these firearms should be sold to civilians.
  • Prohibit high-capacity ammunition magazines.
  • Implement a buyback program to get assault weapons off the streets.
  • Regulate assault weapons in the same way that we currently regulate fully automatic weapons — a system that essentially makes them unlawful to own.
  • Crack down on “straw purchases” where people buy guns for criminals.
  • Support “red flag” laws and legislation to ensure we keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers and stalkers
  • Ban the 3-D printing of firearms and bump stocks

That, Fear Factor host, UFC color commentator (been that for like 20 years), and of course stand up.
That version of the Man Show does not exist.

First saw him in News Radio and thought he was pretty good in that then sort of followed him through stand-up. Never watched Fear Factor he is OK as a UFC guy.

Re: Question about Joe Rogan...

He was indeed a fairly regular contributor to the Stern Show back about 20 years ago. If I remember correctly, he was one of the favorites to take over "the Jackie Chair," which eventually was filled by Artie Lange, though I might be off on that timeline by a bit. I do remember hearing that he didn't appreciate Howard and some of the other members of the staff painting him as a guy who hated women several times on the air. I seem to recall a segment from one of their Vegas trips where they sort of prodded him on that theory, and he got really pissed off. I believe that was one of his last appearances.

No one should ever google Project Varitas....because it's Veritas. Also, do not google Project Veritas - no good can come from seeking out their videos.

Re: Question about Joe Rogan...

Rogan's an interesting character. I'm not really a fan, but every once in awhile, he goes in hard on the really dumb things his guests say, so I have to give him some credit for that.

But yeah, Newsradio is what I remember him from.

Strongly dislike him and couldn't care less who he interviews. He is a crass asshole and the less I think about him, the better. A better, more qualified, dignified, and mature individual should replace him. Where's Ed Murrow when you need him? Or the great Ted Koppel?? Hell, even William Safire would be leagues and miles beyond the phony effront of Rogan, who acts like a spoiled bratty foul-mouthed immature little child.

Replace him? He's doing his own show. How do we go about "replacing him"?

Spoken like someone who's listened to exactly zero of his casts.

Re: Question about Joe Rogan...

Rogan was also responsible for calling out Carlos Mencia on plagiarism for ripping off bits from other comedians.

Well, you replace a pod-casting comedian with a dead news anchor of course!

No, he's not. He has had guests who were also 9/11 Truthers on his show and tries to understand their views, but he's not one of them.

- Believes the moon landing was faked (although I heard he might be coming around on this one)
Yes, he has said that but seems to have already come around on it.

- Has expressed some very anti LGBTQ sentiments over the years
Such as what?

- Extremely talented and bright guy who can make compelling arguments for things that are just plain wrong
Anyone can make seemingly good arguments for things that turn out to be wrong, so that's just saying he's like a normal guy.

Two options:

Since he does a podcast, I’m guessing #2 would be appropriate.

Re: Question about Joe Rogan...

To my surprise, The New York Times mentions Joe Rogan today in an article on a comedian who made a controversial tweet about Kobe Bryant. They describe the comedian, Ari Shaffir, as "one of the most frequent guests on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” arguably the most popular podcast in the world."

I'm impressed that Joe Rogan isn't labeled as alt-right or far right in this article as too many articles inexplicably do.
