Smelly
I have a tough question.
My best employee has been with me for two years. She is beyond fantastic, she is beautiful, great with customers, knows her stuff, I'd pay her double if she asked.
I have a rep that comes by every week, also fantastic, gives me great product, always friendly and professional.
Both of them smell like old people. Not a slight whiff of smell, but an overriding smell. Is there anything I can do?
I am in no position to bring it up. I feel badly for my employee because she is single, again beautiful (smart, independent, self-reliant, etc.)
Who knows, maybe I smell bad?
I love them both so much, I wish there was a way to make this modest improvement.

Since you're a member here, I think you're probably the one with the old-people smell.

I have good news and bad news. Good news is you are getting a raise, bad news it is contingent on you switching personal hygiene products and taking up a gum chewing habit.

Depending on what state your business resides in will determine what you can do. For example in California, these are the only protected classes that can’t be discriminated against:
*I’m not a lawyer
- Race
- Color
- Religion (includes religious dress and grooming practices)
- Sex/gender (includes pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and/ or related medical conditions)
- Gender identity, gender expression
- Sexual orientation
- Marital status
- Medical Condition (genetic characteristics, cancer or a record or history of cancer)
- Military or veteran status
- National origin (includes language use and possession of a driver’s license issued to persons unable to provide their presence in the United State is authorized under federal law)
- Ancestry
- Disability (mental and physical including HIV/AIDS, cancer, and genetic characteristics)
- Genetic information
- Request for family care leave
- Request for leave for an employee’s own serious health condition
- Request for Pregnancy Disability Leave
- Retaliation for reporting patient abuse in tax-supported institutions
- Age (over 40)

Re: Smelly
OP gives off a very confusing and strange outlook about his employees. He's mentioned that they are beautiful, numerous times and that he loves them. Then goes on to say one is single but then recants his story and they both engaged.
If the smell is putting you off greatly and affecting the atmosphere why not put scent stuff around the place? Or how about putting on some cologne to spark something up?
I just believe that the office stinks and not the females. It probably resembles Alan's apartment.

Re: Smelly
Are they American or from some other country where their culture of hygeine may be different? I had a coworker once who was from Pakistan and while her clothed were always cleaned, ironed and pressed, etc. she had a very strong odor coming from her. I'm guessing in her culture they didn't or aren't allowed to use underarm deoderant. So whenever you got in close proximity to her you would smell the odor of cooked onions. If she raised her arms in the air or moved her arms around when you were near her, the smell would become much stronger.
If they have an old musty smell to them, maybe they are not rying their clothes properly after taking them out of the washer causing their clothes to become somewhat moldy or musty. You said they are both engaged. So if they are engaged to each other and living together perhaps the issue is their laundry.
