To tell time - Wrist watch or phone?

When wanting to know the time do you prefer a wrist watch or using a phone? With the smart phone many people have dumped their wrist watches. What do you prefer?

Well I use my smart watch, so it's sort of both.

My Pebble Time watch is on its last legs, and I wish there were a cheap smartwatch that just told time, had some watchfaces, and got notifications from my phone to replace it. But yeah I use it all the time to check the time.

Went without a watch for quite some time until finally caving and getting a smart watch. Now, I still use both to check.

Even before I had a smart phone I never liked wearing watches very much. I had a couple cheap ones that I wore to work but I didnít wear them outside of work normally. I won a FitBit Ionic, and while itís nice I wore it for a while and now it just sits there.

I never liked wearing watches and haven't worn one in 30 years or so. It was a bit of a pain before cell phones came along (before them I used to just have a cheap watch shoved in my pocket )

Watches are my largest hobby besides gaming. I rarely use my phone to check the time unless it's late at night and I've taken my watch off.

From about 2004 through August 9, 2019 I relied on my phone to tell time. On Aug 9 I dropped my phone on my first day of vacation overseas, and wasn't able to get a replacement for about a month (long story). I am now back to wearing a watch.

I recently stopped wearing a wristwatch. I have a very pretty rose-gold Lucien Picard watch, but the battery croaked and I haven't replaced it since I always have my phone with me anyway.

I'm not one of these people who has my phone stuck in my face all the time so I prefer a watch. Otherwise you have to take your phone out of your pocket & look. And it drives me bonkers not knowing what time it is.

Plus I feed nude without a watch, having worn one my entire life.

If they still sold that Microman watch, I'd buy one.

I haven't worn a watch in 20+ yrs and haven't gone the smart watch route yet. Phone or clock in whatever room I'm in it is...

Phone.

Was never really crazy about wearing things like watches or rings so when telling time on mobile became a thing I was happy. An old boss gave me a nice watch as a gift of appreciation a couple years ago and I still haven't worn it. Should probably sell it..

I use my smart watch, but if I want to be kept in suspense about how many steps I've logged for the day I'll use my phone. It's always nice to hit the step count goal before you realize it.

Re: To tell time - Wrist watch or phone?

I've never liked wearing a watch so, before cell phones came along, I would just ask people what time it was, which has always worked great.

Now, I have a cell in my pocket that I can always look at but, the truth is, there's usually a clock around.

Re: To tell time - Wrist watch or phone?

I used to hate Wrist Watches because they would give out after awhile or fall apart, but I never carry a cell phone so my wife got me an Omega for our anniversary and Im really liking it so far.

Re: To tell time - Wrist watch or phone?

I have 2 watches: an el cheapo Casio digital (for work) and an Armitron electric with dial (dressy), I wouldn't part with either.

(Armitron is similar but not exactly like that)

I bought a watch a few days ago and posted it in the "last thing you bought" thread. I ended up with buyer's remorse because I'm not used to a watch putting pressure on my wrist. I ended up returning it. Cool budget watch loved how it lit up. I guess you have to get used to wearing a watch for years to not let the hugging bother you. I also don't wear any kind of jewelry.

Both. When not looking at my phone, I'll use my wristwatch.

Re: To tell time - Wrist watch or phone?

Watch. Now. I used to just use my phone but needed a stop watch to time medication doses during code blues. Instead of having to get my phone out and using that, especially if it was in a dirty room, I got a Casio G-Shock with a stop watch function. Rocking that 90's style. Although it has an analog watch face so it's not entirely child like. It's also solar powered and sets itself to the atomic clock so I never have to worry about it at all.
