Thomas Middleditch claims swinging saved his marriage

I thought with all the annoying characters and the TV ads nobody would want to do him
Maybe if more people did this there would be no divorces

Thomas Middleditch is being open about his open marriage.

In an interview with Playboy, the "Silicon Valley" star revealed that he and his wife of four years, costume designer Mollie Gates, are into the swinging scene."I don't know how much I can say, because I don't want my wife to be mad at me," Middleditch said. "Only after I got married was I like, 'Mollie, I'm sorry, but we have to get nontraditional here.' To her credit, instead of saying ... 'I'm out,' she was like, 'Let's figure this out.' "Not only did they figure it out, but the 37-year-old actor said "To be honest, swinging has saved our marriage."

"We have different speeds, and we argue over it constantly, but it's better than feeling unheard and alone and that you have to scurry in the shadows," he said. "By the way, it's now called being 'part of the lifestyle.' The term swinging is old."
Middleditch said being "part of the lifestyle" wasn't something he had aspired to.

"I self-deprecatingly call myself a pervert, but that's not what it is," he said. "I just like it. I'm sexual."Marriage to Gates, 32, didn't change that, he said.

"I'd always thought I was a romantic and that when I fall in love, that stuff fades away. It does for some years — enough to be like, 'I should get married, and I'll be different,' " Middleditch said. "But it's part of me. If that's part of your being and it feels important to you, find a way to explore it, because repression sucks."The couple have rules, he said, and function as a unit.

"It's a perpetual state of management and communication, to the point where it's like, 'All right, we've got to stop. Chill,' " Middleditch said. "I'm gas, and she's brakes. This is actually the premise for a comedy series we're writing together."

Reading between the lines, heís into it, she isnít but is going along to be a good wife. Sheíll tire of his bullshit and end up dumping his ass. This interview will only expedite the inevitable.

P.S. his wife is smoking hot. If he still needs to swing with her at home, heís doing it wrong.

The failure rate of open marriages/relationship is something like 92%.
I'm sure it's fun at first, but they do not last.

Let's face it, he's being greedy and his good thing is gonna sour and die. Plus, he's lucky he has fame and money to assist his cause cuz he's kinda nerdy-creepy in the looks department, imo.

Yeah it reads like he got married, then told her hey I want to sleep with other people, if you don't like it this is over, and she went along with it. Maybe that's wrong but that's certainly how it comes across.

Speaking of, I just read an article interviewing Demi Moore about her memoir. In it, she says she regretís having threesomeís with Ashton. She says he used it to basically justify cheating on her. Not exactly the same, but it is an act of an open marriage. Sounds like Ashton and Thomas need to date each other. If you canít be faithful to your spouse, donít commit.

Don't know why guys want to get married and then do threesomes. How about just doing threesomes without being in relationships? It's not that fucking hard especially when you're rich.

She's beautiful and he's a total cuck. She'll leave him eventually when she knows she can do better.

Whoever wrote that article needs to get their terms correct. Swinging is "the lifestyle", "the scene" is something else.

And, the first rule of either is...

I don't know why people always poo-poo open relationships. I've been in one for 5 years now, works great for us!

You know how the loudest anti-gay men turn out to be secretly wanting to have gay sex?

I laughed at that part. Do these people realize how many things call themselves ďa sceneĒ?
