She said the N word. Slow it down to .5 or .25 speed and its clear as day.

Nope.
Slowing it down actually makes it sound worse because doing so changes the audio... It de-emphasizes the jumbled mess and hyper-emphasizes the hard N and R syllables.

Also, speaker quality seems to make a difference.
In'der'groshrrstrr is what she's mumbling.

Or is she????

I'm guessing (don't feel like watching it again) that she pronounced "Pocky" incorrectly like most English speakers do.

Well shit, you're saying it correctly. I always hear people pronounce it "Pah-kee", which I can understand based on how it is spelled in English. Well done, Dan!

actually I've always said it "pah-kee"
But your post made me realize I was probably saying it wrong... So poke-ee was my new guess!

Well now you know! It's tricky because in English "ock" is usually pronounced "ahk", but the "o" in a Japanese word is always pronounced "oh".

Sorry for getting really off topic!

Listening to it in slow motion, it sounds more like she is saying "I guess they sell it at the register too now", which would make more sense. Perhaps she is saying the Japanese candy would normally be in the ethnic aisle but you can now often find it with the other candies at the checkout of the grocery store. I'm not sure why someone even if they were racist would talk about Japanese candy in the ethnic aisle and then go to saying you could find it at a "n" store. Don't see why someone who wanted to say something racist would just add a racist adjective before a random noun that would have nothing to do with what they were talking about. She's intentionally talking slow so her words are sounding like she is mumbling. It looks like she is trying to do those youtube videos where people just talk really slow or make very low key sounds to create a calming effect for the viewer.

What difference does it make how fast or how slow you are moving?
