What's your favorite salad dressing?

Ranch dressing is America's overwhelmingly favorite salad dressing, but I figured that we otters might have somewhat differing tastes.

So, what's your favorite salad dressing?

I'm partial to bleu cheese dressing. The sole piece of good advice that my ex-mother-in-law gave me was this: You can judge a restaurant directly in proportion to how good its bleu cheese dressing is. If a restaurant's bleu cheese dressing is great, the food will be wonderful; if its bleu cheese dressing is bad, the food will be poor-to-average. She told me that probably twenty-five years ago, and I've never seen it be wrong.

The adult in me wants to say a nice blue cheese, but for some reason Iíve always loved Wishbone Deluxe French and all its orangey goodness.

Could also say Ranch but thatís too easy. Sweet Tomatoes has an awesome ranch.

I pretty much like them all except ranch, but lean towards a balsamic vinaigrette or blue cheese.

Re: What's your favorite salad dressing?

I eat my salads without dressing. Started doing it that way when I young and the thought of using any kind of dressing now seems gross.

I only down-voted ranch because it's too versatile to be just a salad dressing ... :P

My favorite is ranch, but I like almost any homemade dressing over bottled.

Same

Bottles contain too much unnecessary high sodium. No good for people with hypertension.

When I eat at a restaurant, it's vinegar and oil.

Re: What's your favorite salad dressing?

Blue cheese most of the time. French and Thousand Island sometimes. Ranch as the fallback.

Bleu cheese smells like unwashed armpits on a hundred degree day. thank you for including green goddess in your list. I may be the only person on the planet who still favors it.

Re: What's your favorite salad dressing?

Iíve never really liked salad dressing at all. I eat salads just plain. My only exception is on taco salads I donít mind a bit of chipotle ranch.

Ranch.

Taco sauce works when you run out of Ranch. I had the salad already made before I realized I was out of Ranch. It was good with taco sauce.

Now I'm curious about that dressing, I love anchovies.

Re: What's your favorite salad dressing?

Before ranch dressing became so popular, Green Goddess was in its place. The original recipe does contain anchovies. I had some homemade at a friend's house a few weeks ago and it was delish. Have no idea if the bottled version I buy contains any anchovies or maybe just flavoring, but it's still good stuff.

Told my 93 y/o dad about this poll and he was incensed that roquefort wasn't an option. Said to tell you you damn kids don't do anything right.

Thousand Islands tastes like puke with sweet pickles in it.
