PayPal Suspended Account

My original PayPal account was suspended nearly 3 years ago it had my SSN associated with that account my question has anyone ever had this happened to them and retry to open a new PayPal account using their SSN that was associated with a suspended account?

Huh?

Why not just call their customer service and explain to them what happened.

Re: PayPal Suspended Account

You should call and offer them digital movie codes.

Why was it suspended? Were you presumed missing during The Snap? However you were actually trapped in the Quantum Realm, and now you are back!

Never was told the exact violation of their policy but was told it couldn't be appeal, this was in the fall of 2016.

Re: PayPal Suspended Account

I don't think they can suspend you but limit your account which you can't send or receive money which is probably the same as a suspension.

Sounds like something you should call them about and clarify, if anything to hear what was violated, if in fact it was a violation. Seems odd you would need to provide a SSN and then not stating what the violation was. I highly doubt theyíd hang up on you.

Yes you will be linked. No PayPal does not care about you if you have a negative balance. Even if you can reach someone with empathy, which you canít, you are viewed as a toxic user if your account is in the negative.

I was about to hoist up the "Bullshit" flag on that too, but I looked into it and if you sell a certain amount on E-bay you do need to provide it.

What is that amount? I know I've sold a lot over the past few years.

Re: PayPal Suspended Account

It was like 10,000 USD or certain amount of payments received (I want to say 100 maybe).

Now they require it in order to keep any sort of balance in the account (I think this month they will force you to add it, or you have to link a bank account to withdraw funds into it). I chalk this up to Paypal trying to fall into line with any type of banking and IRS regulations

Did you speak with regular customer service rep? Might want to try their compliance department

Re: PayPal Suspended Account

Yeah, Paypal and Amazon have required SSN numbers if you sell over a certain quantity/dollar amount for quite awhile now due to IRS rules. I wouldn't try opening a new account with the same SSN as they would find out about it fairly quickly.

The total for selling is having both 200 sale transactions and $20,000 in total sales within a calendar year I reached that point in 2015 so had to provide my SSN and shortly after that I was put on what they call Permanently Limit Account (basically suspended for life) and with no way to appeal, apparently had to do with something I was selling on eBay at the time. I did call as some have suggested here but PayPal Customer Service is fairly inept and couldn't tell me what was the offending transaction and they told me it didn't matter because whatever the offense it was deemed guilty without the ability to appeal to state my case.

The new requirement to provide SSN is if you will use your balance to pay for things or try to send it to someone else, if you transfer the money to a bank account then the SSN isn't required.

That's why I'm completely done with Ebay and Paypal at this point, and why, once Amazon started charging sales tax in 2011 or 2012, my buying there went to nearly nil.

This honestly sounds like one of those fake emails that says "Your PayPal Account Has Been Suspended" and then the guy clicked the link and entered all his personal information.

Yeah, I just noticed this the other day. I hadn't received a PP payment in months but sold something on ebay this week, and when I checked my PP account I saw that the money wasn't in my account but just "available" and if I wanted to put it in my PP account I had to give them a bunch of extra info. I just thought "fuck that" and had it transferred directly to my bank account with no fuss. I'm not sure if it's a good idea for them to start making it harder for their customers to use their PP account, that can't be good for business, things like this should be easy and seamless. But if their new rules are absolutely required by law, maybe they don't have a choice?

It's due to new regulations from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. If you want to hold a balance in PayPal, they have to create a separate (linked) PayPal Cash account:
