RIP classicman

It saddens me to inform everyone that our beloved fellow otter, classicman2, passed away recently. Some newer members here might not be familiar with him because he stopped posting a few years ago, but until then he was a very active member. I primarily interacted with him in politics threads and also in threads about golf. He also loved horse racing. I believe he was also fairly active in the trading threads. He was one of a kind and I miss him a lot.

Obituary for Bynum Lee Wright

Bynum Lee Wright, 80 of Wynnewood, OK. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 1, 2019.

He transitioned this earthly plane from his home after lengthy illnesses of heart disease and alzheimer's disease. Attending him was his wife Patsy Bevel Wright and youngest son, Brian Matthew Wright. He was preceded in physical death by eldest son, Kevin Lee Wright October 14, 2015. Bynum was born on November 7, 1938 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Joyce Charles Wright and Opal Phillips. Following the divorce of his parents, Opal and her children moved to Borger, Texas. Sibling's were Ramona Berry and Phillip Wright. After graduating high school,he joined the United States Army, serving overseas. He then lived in San Francisco where he learned to love the opera earning the name of Classicman. Upon returning to Borger, Texas he graduated from West Texas University earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. He had many post graduate hours of study as he kept changing majors. His greatest joy besides his family was the pursuit of Knowledge. He retired from Social Security Sevices in Denver, Colorado. I am most certain Classicman is witness to performances and voices he would wish all of us could see and observe. We will have to wait. A great man, who would routinely drop insightful commentary. You are missed, Bynum.

Sorry to hear of his passing.

He was certainly one of the more, ahem, notable members of these forums.

RIP classicman. Didn’t have a lot of personal interaction with him, but he was a name I liked seeing when his posts came up.
