Yeah, Uncrustables are cool. I don’t mind crust, but it is my least favorite part of the bread, so I eat all my sandwiches by going around and finishing the crust first, saving the best for last.

On the rare occasions that I eat a peanut butter sandwich (no jelly!) I'll always toast it.

Re: The proper way to eat a peanut and jelly sandwich

Potato bread slice, 1/4" - 1/2" thick layer of chunky peanut butter on the bottom spread to the very edge since is has the friction to hold back the strawberry jam that goes on top, which is kinda mounded in the center. Then the top slice which gets pressed down in the center a bit which squeezes the jam towards the edge, then compress the edge to hold it all together. Then eat it so fast that you can't catch your breath and your wife berates you for eating so quick and the fact the sandwich weighs 2lbs.

Same. In fact... here's the truth. I didn't want to have to bring this up, but it looks like I must:

I literally eat a chunky peanut butter and strawberry jam toast sandwich every. Single. Morning. And have for at least the last. Ten. Years. The only exception is when I'm out of town and it's unavailable.

That's at least PB&J 3,500 sandwiches over 10 years. I know what I'm talking about.

My wife ate a peanut butter sandwich for lunch at school every single day from kindergarten through high school. That’s 13 years but only school days so Story still wins.

Agree! No jelly. Honey would be my choice instead.

Damn. I eat 2-3 a week and thought that was excessive.

And yeah, toast is good at home. Not so good when packing a lunch for work.

Re: The proper way to eat a peanut and jelly sandwich

I take a peanut butter sandwich to work, so I've eaten 3-4 a week for 20+ years. I don't like the way jelly soaks into the bread by lunch time, so it's always been just peanut butter. I've eaten more PB sandwiches than Story, but it's taken me twice as long.

Now I eat all-natural peanut butter on home made bread.

What? There is no TV show? No ceremony? No Pauly Shore?

Still ... it’s like you were projecting who would be in the In Memorium segment and getting it wrong. Wilfred Brimley has died for the last 8 years running.

Why Wilfred Brimley? Cause ya’ all are getting the DIABEETUS from all that jelly and peanut butter!

When I eat a sandwich or hamburger, I take it on a case-by-case basis, and eat in whatever way will minimize the chances that the contents will spill or ooze out onto my shirt.

Peanut butter on both slices of bread. Then jelly between the two. It keeps the bread from getting soggy from the jelly.
But when you do that it doesn’t give the jelly anything to stick to, and the two peanut buttered slices of bread will slip around on the jelly like its a lubricant, and it will drip out the sides and make a mess.

I eat peanut butter and jelly on either a sandwich, toast, or a bagel 4-5 times a week. It's the perfect food.

As long as it's Smucker's chunky all-natural PB and I can sneak some chia seeds or hemp hearts in it, I'm cool with or without jelly.

The best sandwich is peanut butter, banana and honey.

Good lord, how much jelly are you people using? I can't say I've ever had this happen.

Man up and get some preserves or jam. Jelly is for children.

I started using preserves back in high school. Still a favorite.

Have to agree as long as the sugar content is restrained. Ruins the flavor.

I must defer to our resident PBJologists. I think I've had two PB&J sandwiches in the last 3 or 4 years.

I'm glad that we have a toaster oven at work.

How about packing the ingredients separately and assemble at work? I've done that with messier sandwiches.
