Flying, inviting another passenger to sit next to me?

I have A-list on Southwest, so I usually board early, and get a good seat. The flights I am on are almost always full. I'd like to have a short/petite person to next to me so I don't spend the next 5 hours literally rubbing elbows with them. Is there a non-creepy way to ask a person if they'd like to take the seat next to me?

If you are willing to sit in the middle seat, just scope out a petite hottie sitting at the window and sit in the middle next to her. It's not a lock that you won't have a fat slob in the aisle seat, but with the extra space, you could spill over into her personal zone. Yeah, there's no non creepy way to do this. It's air travel and it sucks.

No, probably not.

Basically, you can kiss off anyone who has a bag they want to put in the overhead bin as the front bins will already be full pretty quickly. Even then, a substantial percentage of people would rather have a window or aisle further back than a middle up front.

I also usually board early on SW flights and always grab an aisle near the front. Someone usually grabs the window seat pretty quickly and then the "who's gonna take the middle?" game starts up. There are usually a number of smaller women who are quick to jump on middle seats up front anyway, but I often do not attract one of those since I am such a big guy myself. Then I am enrolled into the "how big are the last people to board?" lottery.

When you see a petite lady coming down the aisle, just pat the empty seat next to you and give her an inviting wink. Problem solved!

You forgot to mention I should imitate Beavis & Butthead voice and say "Hey Baby. Come sit next to me. Heh heh heh heg heh heh heh."

That's exactly right. As you know, since Southwest doesn't assign seats, window and aisle seats always fill up first, so if you are willing to sit in the middle, you will know in advance exactly who your neighbors are.

Having an aisle seat with the possibility of having a larger person in the center is more desirable than a center seat between two petite people.

I find "Hey sugartits, there's a spot right here for ya" doesn't work. Hope that helps.

Yea. There is really not. But you can always be a creep. Are you famous or something? Chances are nobody in the entire airport knows you or give two fucks about you anyways. So go ahead and be a creep.

Just try your best to not sound like Buffalo Bill when you offer.
