How about at home though. I was curious about that. I should have asked my question differently

Yes. These are miserable people to be around. Venting to friends helps, but no one wants to hear that shit on a daily basis nor cares what Suzy said to you that day. They need to either find things to look forward to after work to have fun with their lives or find a new job.

Yes, and I don't get it. It takes so much to get into this field that I suppose some feel stuck but wow, I know a small handful who are just plain angry and it's draining. The things they're angry about? Easily fixable, avoidable, or could be at least fine if they just right-framed it in their minds. Rarely is it about anything that would even qualify as an issue of substance. And then, when I finally say, "Well, have you talked to her or him about it?" they say no, why would they do that, nothing will change. Okay. Fine. But I really don't want to hear it, anymore.

Re: People who spend most of there time complaining about work.

Holy shit, MANBREASTS is back.

I joke about work on my FB page because I like to come up with silly observations about it. But in reality I love my job and am very grateful for it. I work with a lot of great people and am able to make a contribution to the design industry because of what I do all day.

One reason I am grateful is that I can remember jobs I wasn't so happy at. I actually WAS a negative Nellie in my early career, until a supervisor whom I will be forever grateful for called me into her office and let me know that nobody around me appreciated it. I was 28 then. That was 25 years ago. Life's too short.

I don't complain so much as choose not to work at the places I don't like. I'm per diem and work for 3 different companies at tons of nursing homes in about a 90 minute radius around my house. If I hate a place (and I do dislike a few), when asked to work there, I just don't offer to pick up those shifts.

Those that work complain about work often. Those that don't work or are retired go to McDonald's every morning and complain about politicians full time.

I used to have a boss who would say Dont worry about the bitching worry when a person stops. When they bitch, it means they still care.

Im afraid I may have become that person been going through a really rough extended period at work. Ive tried to turn it around and be the cheerful person I used to be, but now people come to me to bitch. Just when I thought I was out ... they pull me back in!

My wife. She talks about work often, and at least half the time it is complaints.

I guess I'm lucky in that I have very few complaints about my job. I've been very fortunate, in my employment. Regardless, I rarely talk about my work. If I do, it usually leads to more talk about her work.

^^ lol!

I think it's very natural to "complain" about work... you spend as much of your time there as you do at home and sleeping (at least I do). Gotta vent / talk about that chunk of your time somehow.

I have my own business so it would do know good. For the most part my employees don’t complain about the work or job. They will complain about some customers though.

Re: People who spend most of there time complaining about work.

almost everyone I know complains about work constantly, face it, if most of us didn't have to work full time, we wouldn't. Something that takes up so much of your time and energy and you would rather be doing something else, its natural to complain.

Seems to be a lot fewer 'good employers ' out there anymore, so lots to complain about.

I would love to only work about 20 hours a week, until then, I am going to complain about it.

I feel your pain bro. Used to live with a female friend that I did not date, but did bang here and there, and when coming home, the second I got in I'd be bombarded and I wasn't even dating her. AT some point she got offended that I wasn't listening or talking with her, but 1. I don't care. 2. i'm not your boyfriend so I don't need to pretend to care. It was exhausting.

This is whats so funny to me! This thread is really about my Mother. She has done the same job for what will be 50 years this September. and I tell people that she is exactly like Robert Deniro in Casino, She eats, breaths, and shits her job. She has only called in sick maybe two times in 50 years. But and I mean a big BUT, 99% of everything that comes out of her mouth is about how much she hates her job. and everything that is wrong with it. So this thread is really about somebody who does something they love but then complains about it all day long LOL!!!

Re: People who spend most of there time complaining about work.

How about people who spend their lunch hour having impromptu staff meetings? I regularly go to lunch with people from my former department, but increasingly they just talk about work. Their offices are one floor and about 60 feet apart, so it's not like they couldn't do this shit during work hours.

Of course, it's still more interesting than listening to the 25 year old guy with 3% body fat talk about how he needs to hit the arc trainer even harder.

I think every boyfriend and husband suffers the same fate. I know I do.
