I may have you beat--here's the timeline of a package that was mailed from Whittier, CA:

11/10 - left CA
11/14 - arrived in Memphis
11/16 - arrived in Los Angeles
11/23 - arrived in Memphis
11/25 - arrived in Los Angeles
11/28 - in transit to next facility

For the record, I live in Mississippi, and most west coast mail gets routed through Memphis...but not usually twice, perhaps three times.

It's a good thing that the seller provided a tracking number, or I'd be raising holy hell with him about the lateness of the package.

Perhaps I shouldn't have ordered a boomerang.

Well, I guess it was just delayed as it's now showing Out for Delivery as of 8:55 local time. Fingers crossed and no Boomerang for me.

Off topic but wow
USPS carriers in Atlanta area sentenced for delivering cocaine

Nov. 29 (UPI) -- More than a dozen workers with the U.S. Postal Service in Georgia took bribes to deliver cocaine on their routes, federal authorities said.

Sixteen USPS workers in Atlanta were paid to deliver packages containing more than 4 pounds of cocaine at a time, the U.S. Attorney's Office of the North District of Georgia said in a statement Tuesday.

All 16 accused carriers were convicted and sentenced to between three to nine years.

Here's another article along the lines of what Sonic posted, but with a little more detail...

I signed up and opted out.

Not that anyone cares (nor is it on topic, for that matter) but I wanted to close this out by saying that I got my package yesterday (11/30). It turns out that the seller had put the wrong address on it--it had my correct name, street, and city, but the wrong house number. Luckily, there IS no house with the number he put, so I guess some astute postal worker figured out to check my name against house numbers on my street, and the correct match came up.

No wonder it bounced back and forth three times across the country.
