If I had a baby the day I joined DVDTalk...

... it would now be old enough to vote, join the Army, and buy cigarettes.

Holy crap.

Mine still wouldn't be quite old enough to vote yet but she'd probably already have two kids and a meth habit.

Re: If I had a baby the day I joined DVDTalk...

We have all grown old(er) together. Some of us were teens when we joined, some of us in our 20s or 30s, and a select few were already middle-aged or older. A few members have passed away in the interim. It's the circle(jerk) of DVD Talk.

Was living at home when I joined. Married almost 15 years now and have two children. DVDtalk has been a helluva way to pass the time.

My baby would only be 1 year 5 months older than my oldest daughter. Wow!

Thanks for reminding me that I've spent the last (almost) 20 years talking about little discs in a plastic case. I went from almost middle age to almost retirement age.

...I could have made millions selling book and media rights and would have immediately entered the history tomes.

(All which I expect to happen anyway without having a baby).

If any of you dudes had had a baby, in 1999 or at any other time, you'd've made medical history.

It says below your Profile that you joined in 2009. Where is it that an 8 year old can vote, join the army and buy cigarettes?

They can get married in Alabama too, as long as it's to a sibling.

Re: If I had a baby the day I joined DVDTalk...

I joined in October of 1999. That's what my profile says, and sounds about right based on my threads in '03, etc.

It's been a hell of a community, helped me through some interesting times. And I still wear my Boron Cowpunch shirt with pride!

Oh man, I am completely jealous of the Boron Cowpunch shirt. That discussion was one of my all-time favorites.

You profile says:

I do see posts older than that when I search for posts by you though.

Re: If I had a baby the day I joined DVDTalk...

Mod edit, maybe.

DVDTalk has been the only constant for me, online, since I've joined. I can't think of any other sites I go to today that I was going to back then, aside from email and google/searches. I joined up specifically for twikoff's spreadsheet that assisted with getting free DVDs through signing up for free trials of different things.

I joined in August 2001 and was 16 years old at the time. Now I'm 32. So yeah, half my life here. Crazy.

Hope springs eternal.

I joined the same year my first kid was born. She's now 14. Got married and had 2 more kids since. Sweet Jesus I've been on here a long time. Definitely different now.

I don't even remember when I joined. I click on my name and it takes me to a banned account.
