Family Attacked by Mob of Teens at Six Flags
Headline reads: Nightmare at Six Flags: Teens Cut Family in Line; Sucker Punch 12-Year-Old.
Details from article allege that group of teens cut line ahead of family waiting; words were exchanged; preteen boy punched; father steps in to defend son; teens attack family.

How many have witnessed (or experienced) anything similar (not counting saloon parking lot brawls) with people at a park, mall, concert, family event getting into a brawl? I seen a few fisticuffs at ball games between parents, but that's about it.

It used to be a problem at the New Mexico State Fair. Gangs would go as a group to the midway, threaten fairgoers, and have gang fights with each other. There were several stabbings. The problem was solved by a large increase of police presence.

I've seen similar. Hell, when I was 12 some asshole on a cruise ship basically body slammed me to get a seat for some shitty show. It's crazy how much the internet has changed the amount of "incident news" we get, still not sure if that's what drove my parents paranoid or if that was just natural with aging.

Punkass Kids: "But, the 12-year old cut in line before we did! We were just defending ourselves and others. The kid deserved to be punched!"

Six Flags Magic Mountain in California famously had a killing in the parking lot back in the early '90s. There was a murder at Disneyland a LONG time ago, like '60s or '70s. EDIT: I just checked. It was 1981.
Maybe 10 years back there was a fight in the line for the Haunted Mansion and one guest pepper sprayed another guest.

These problems persisted until they stopped the live bands and stuff.
My wife was called to jury duty and there was a teenage kid who had brought in a knife to MM and when she was caught by security with it she fought with them and hurt one of the guards and it became a big deal. She was found not-guilty by one member of the jury who said she seemed like a nice girl and he didn't want to see her have anything on her record.

When there was "backstreet" we had a lot of problems with that. it really became unsafe.

I remember my cousin and I were trying to drop pennies on go carts while we were on the sky ride. Of course, cameras caught us in action and security was waiting when the ride ended. Somehow we talked our way of getting thrown out of the park, we were just stupid kids.
This was back in the 80's, I can't imagine the surveillance they have now!

I remember a street fair in Downtown, Los Angeles that I went to with my family many years back, and I believe in the evening there was supposed to be a concert that turned violent because The Ramones were a no-show (my family was long gone by then), it spoiled things because the fair was supposed to be an annual event but it was cancelled. Okay, I found an article talking about the violence at the Street Scene, which caused the event to be cancelled in 1987. Sigh...remembering that day, it is a shame this did not turn into an annual event, it was actually pretty awesome.

I hate line-skippers anyway. And, a gang that forces themselves in line (in front of a 12-year old & his 50-something parents) and then proceed to beat the victims up when they speak up are all scumbags. They should all be beaten to within an inch of their lives, and then thrown in jail for 50 years.
I have had assholes skip ahead of me in line & I have always said something; in most cases we just yell at each other. It doesn't do much good, but at least it makes me feel better that they know I'm not going to just take it without saying anything.
Yet another reason why online shopping is great.

Chicago. I can see if this happened in the south there would be a bunch of people kicking the shit out of these teens.

We got fast passes for the new Avatar ride Flights of Passage (which is amazing.) There must have been no less than 20 cameras just on the queue for the ride. I can only imagine how many there are around all of the parks. We got to see first hand how fast security is. They seemingly came out of nowhere when a belligerent guy and his family started screaming at a cast member about their fast passes (they didn't have any) to Flights of Passage.
It was no different a couple years back in DCA for opening of Radiator Springs Racers. Sadly there are some real assholes that buy tickets to Disney Parks and feel they are different than everybody else that also purchased a ticket. But Disney usually handles it well, and very few (if any guests) and harmed.
