Help me make an identity thief's life miserable

So, I was the victim of identity theft. I found this out when I received an email of an update to my account changing it to a new email address. I called the customer service of the site and they told me that they had noticed this as well and deactivated the account, however not quick enough before the thief could make various changes to it.

Good news is I didn't lose any money over this, however the moron who hacked my account used his personal email for the change...and he even responded to me! I emailed them stating "Fuck you for trying to steal my account, asshole" and they had the gall to respond and say "die motherfucker."

I want to take advantage of the fact that I have his email address. Any suggestions on what to do?

I think reporting the email address to authorities won't lead to anything, so maybe signing their email up for various newsletters (of the dirty kind), creating a CraigsList dating profile and publishing his email on it, etc.

I know this comes off as really immature, but again, I think the "adult" way of handling it won't result in any consequences and I think identity thieves are scum and should receive payback.

Maybe, but at least he'll be inundated with spam and newsletters until then.

Hey, I'm all for revenge and all, but who's to say this asshat didn't steal David Marrone's identity and take over his email account before he used it to go after you? Just sayin'.

But it will still be a yahoo account, so he'll suffer no matter what.

Too bad you don't have anything else like a real home address or phone number. That email address of his is probably an account used for hacking/spamming purposes. He'll just abandon it.

Osiris, I think I've found the contact information (address, telephone) for the actual owner of the Yahoo! account. I can PM it to you if you want to call and confront him/let him know his account might be compromised. Let me know.

Re: Help me make an identity thief's life miserable

You would think authorities would be interested in an identity theft perpetrator.

Sign him up for Facebook, twitter, every telemarketer site you can find, etc.. Flood him with spam. But, it's just a Yahoo account, so it's expendable anyway. Scum begats scum.

Immature, yes, but it may teach his imbecilic mind a lesson.

Did you not read the OP? If all I have is an email address that may or not actually belong to the thief, do you really think the authorities would spend time trying to figure out who they are?

Highly doubt it.

Well unfortunately I'm noticing in order to sign him up for stuff, the account has to verified before he starts getting emails. Damn.

Oh wait; were you serious? I did ID theft investigations for my employer for a few years. Very few law enforcement agencies were interested in pursuing ID thefts.

Re: Help me make an identity thief's life miserable

Identity thieves are fucking scum-bags, pieces of shit, and wastes of space. They have ruined many people's lives irrevocably. They all deserve to be tortured & then killed in the most horrible way imaginable - it would be great if this were the actual legal punishment for all identity thieves. And, yes, I'm being serious.
