Do you use adult coloring books?

I know the title invites you to insert your own joke here, but this does appear to be a popular trend. Plus, I have a friend recovering from a head injury, and it was recommended for her.

Re: Do you use adult coloring books?

My girlfriend introduced me to these last year. I don't use it too often but I love it when I do. It's great stress relief.

My wife does them occasionally. I don't get stressed so I've never felt the need to do them.

Re: Do you use adult coloring books?

There is such a thing as kama sutra coloring books. Those would be considered adult, but I've never used them.

Re: Do you use adult coloring books?

I find adult beverages or adult films to be far more effective in "relieving stress", but hey, that's just me.

Oh, now I get it. I thought I would need a lot of flesh colored crayons.

Wife and I have some, we also got some nice gel pens to use with them. It can be very soothing to fill in patterns and shapes.

Re: Do you use adult coloring books?

My girlfriend does them. I think she has about thirty or forty of them that people haven gotten her as gifts. Also has a ton of colored pencils and pens and stuff.

She has books filled with mandalas and patterns and stuff, and does a really good job with them.

I don't have the patience to color, but I've thought about picking up some of these (Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, etc) just as art books, but I find the art in them to be generally subpar.

Re: Do you use adult coloring books?

I didn't know this was a thing. But I think its cool, I feel like I'll doodle along with my niece at restaurants so I can see how it would be relaxing for adults.

Re: Do you use adult coloring books?

I've heard about more and more adults doing this to relieve stress.

I find going for walks a great way to relieve stress. Plus you get the added benefit of it being exercise.
May as well be productive while relieving stress.

Re: Do you use adult coloring books?

Mrs Danger has been publishing adult coloring books (and adults-only coloring books) for twenty years. Now it's becomes a trend, and other people are getting the big sales.

Is this another popular thing I have no clue about?

Re: Do you use adult coloring books?

I think they're kind of cool. Especially the one with the vintage horror comic covers and the one produced by DC. However, I just don't have any desire or time to color.

Re: Do you use adult coloring books?

I get why they are popular, but I would encourage people instead to considering something like cross stitch or origami or chip carving or something like that instead. At least then you end up with something at the end worth keeping or perhaps even selling or gifting to another.

Or you know, unplug from the internet and TV and go outside and exercise?
