Re: Return of the Otters

I miss the otter forum of old. My post count is still abysmal. I noticed that us 99ers are (slowly) approaching our 20th anniversary. That is mind boggling to me. I remember getting all those free/cheap DVDs, those were the days.

Yup! I was lurking on DVD Talk back in '99 a few months before I even had a DVD player because the deals were so irresistible. I think I had something like 40 discs the day my DVD player got here. I bought my player from 800.com and got a stack of free discs, and I took advantage of that Troma sale where DVDs were $0.25 a pop (or, well, $1.89 after shipping)...and there were a couple dozen of those.

I was searching in a box in storage for a pamphlet on the Rubix Cube solution when I found Hot Magenta.

I miss the glory days too. Although I was more about DVDs in those days, I did visit the otter forum from time to time.

I wonder how many of us 99ers are still posting.

I joined in 2000 after lurking for months, so much love for the reel.com deals/quizzes.

not sure there's a story, other than Bushdog and CK are married, but I'm assuming that you already knew that.

Re: Return of the Otters

WTF? A picture of me got out? Good grief that picture is old -- thinking it was from when Mrs. Teff and I were separated. I wish I still had that hat.

I disappeared for a while and missed some of the heyday of Otter, but it's great seeing some MIA Otters pop back up. Like Adam Tyner I came for the deals and had stockpiled several DVDs before getting a player. I didn't bite on everything like many did; not sure if that was for better or worse.

A guy at work introduced me to the site. I still have never frequented any other site or social media -- this is good enough for me. '99ers rock!

no story, just that he doesn't really post anywhere other than on Facebok, too busy with work. So basically good luck waiting for him to post
And what's up with the new username?

Re: Return of the Otters

I was always in this forum except for my first 2-3 months, when I was in the "Other Bargains" forum, but somehow I didn't end up in that photo collage. I must not have been one of the cool ones, or maybe I just never posted a picture, not sure.
