My son made some fidget spinners out of Lego. I support that. Especially since he quickly abandoned the project after completion.

I teach 4th grade and every kid had one of these damn things. I sort of just let them go because I still have PTSD from the whole water bottle flipping nonsense this year. The spinners are at least silent.

My son has school through the end of July. He has an extended school year. He basically gets 1 month off aside from the normal school vacations in April and February and holidays.

Re: Fidget Spinners: The Lamest Episode of Black Mirror Ever?

I bought my son 2 more this past weekend. One with LED lights for home use and another "high end" one made of all stainless steel with a wolf logo on it. He is obsessed with wolves. He was real possessive of the fancy one and would get annoyed if anyone took it out of the case to look at it or try it out. He would immediately ask for it back and then polish the metal to remove all fingerprints or smudges on it. Too funny!

Where'd you get the wolf one? My daughter is into wolves and has a b-day this summer. That would be perfect.

Re: Fidget Spinners: The Lamest Episode of Black Mirror Ever?

it is kinda expensive but clearly well made and by far the longest spinning one I have seen. It will spin for 6 minutes or longer.

WOAH slow down! You need to pass a right of passage before you can wear the wolf. That there is a pure testosterone/cotton blend!

Re: Fidget Spinners: The Lamest Episode of Black Mirror Ever?

My son has that exact shirt among a dozen others. Along with a wolf iphone case, wolf sheets, blankets and bed skirt, calendars, posters, pajamas, screensavers, Windows and PS4 Themes.

Oh and multiple figurines and stuffed animals. Like I said, obsessed.

Re: Fidget Spinners: The Lamest Episode of Black Mirror Ever?

Minus that shirt, the PS4, and iphone case, my daughter his nearly toe-to-toe with your son. She bought a real wolf tail as well.

Thanks for the link.

My daughters' official Fidget Cubes from Antsy finally showed up today. Only took 2 months. They're definitely a far better quality than the cheap knock offs I've seen.

I would think these things would reinforce obsessive behavior.

Can't imagine spending more than a dollar on one, and that would be for a kid.

He's referencing this :

It's not an anti-Semitic comment (though it kinda sounded like one).

Has he written a review for the shirt yet? It's like a right of passage for wolf fans:

When I walk past on my kids left laying around, I'll pick it up and give it a few spins. It is oddly satisfying.

I had these as a kid, and your arm would be full of bruises, by the time you could get the knack of them, good toy, great weapon, no way would these be sold today.

Re: Fidget Spinners: The Lamest Episode of Black Mirror Ever?

I passed a mall kiosk yesterday selling these spinners, and only these spinners. I was going to ask him if they sold enough to make a profit, but he didn't look to happy to be there.

Explain this to me. Has a decade of people ironically enjoying cheesy wolf shirts given rise to kids who enjoy wolves and wolf shirts un-ironically?

I don't think the people manning the kiosks ever look happy.

I wonder if they could sneak in a little clause about legalizing marijuana permanently when they send the bill to congress about creating National Fidget Spinners Day...

Funny to see how popular these stupid things are...I recently just learned how to solve both the 3X3 & 2X2 Rubik's Cubes - much, much, more satisfying if you ask me.

Of course it is, one's something to fidget with, the other is an actual puzzle.

I don't know, until this thread I had no idea there was an ironic wolf wearing movement. I have never seen anyone other than my son wearing wolf stuff.

Re: Fidget Spinners: The Lamest Episode of Black Mirror Ever?

My daughter is a 'girl.' She's still in the "I want to be a VET" phase that most girls go through so she's into all animals, but wolves are her favorite. We went to a zoo with a wolf sanctuary where we got to play with and pet some wolf pups.
