I will say it's incredible the number of adults I meet who don't seem to understand that the way to find out about stuff is to use Google. I see it particularly in my social media feeds where friends ask obvious questions that could be instantly Googled. Example: "does anyone know where X restaurant is in Chicago?" Just Google it already. Googling just doesn't occur to some people.
The idiots that don't know how to google are the absolute fucking worst.
That being said, If I'm looking for a place like a restaurant in a city where I know someone lives, I'll ask them looking for a response like "it's around the corner from X" or it is "down fifth a block from x train station". Stuff like that. More than just the address, but stuff that is a little harder to google for. I will also ask for reviews from people I know. You can get a shit ton of reviews through a google search, but I don't know the google people from Adam.

I started a thread not too long ago about a Simpsons message board I discovered where everyone posted about jokes they didn't understand instead of just googling it. People were asking what "legalize it" means instead of just googling. I found it hysterical. Everyone on here told me I was being a jerk.

IIRC, most of those people weren't native english speakers, so that is why you were getting shit.

Bae is babe without the second b. I've only ever used fam as an abbreviation for family.

I make an effort to stay up on that kind of thing. Every couple of months I put on a Spotify Billboard Top 40 playlist and listen to the first 10 songs or so, just to keep a handle on what's popular.

I do agree that Reddit is super confusing, especially since I far prefer this kind of forum layout. Which is similar to the BBS I used to visit in college.

Probably a lot easier to look up a question about an English TV show in the language it is in.

The evidence suggests that you are a jerk. Don't worry about it though, go with your strengths.

I can't think of much that bothers me as much as that snapchat animal filter. Beyond not understanding it, it throws me into a state of rage.
