Yeah, my car is like that too, and it really can come in handy.

The indicator on my wife's car however, is crap. It only has one indicator to tell you low tire, and it doesn't tell you which tire or the actual pressure. Also the valve stems with the tire pressure monitoring sensors have broken multiple times, and they cost like $60 to replace. I got sick of replacing them and the last 2 I just put regular rubber valve stems on them, which means her TPM system doesn't work at all, and the light is on all the time.
My wife's car has this problem too.

1. Most anything on TV. I don't really watch TV. When I do, I enjoy it, I just don't make time for it. I waste my time other ways.
2. Most any popular music. My girls play the top 40 Google Music station in my house and I've never heard any of those songs. Also, pop hip hop kinda sucks these days, doesn't it? Whatever happened to actual wordplay? Pop hip hop seems to have devolved into obvious, crude innuendo and color-by-numbers beats from an endless series of one-hit-wonders. There's lots of great hip hop out there but it never gets played anywhere. We're a long way from the days when Public Enemy and Tribe were selling out arenas.
3. Pilates. WTF is pilates?

Vaping. I know what it is, I just have no idea why people would want to look that stupid.

It's like walking around stealthily sipping on a baby bottle.

I also don't know what a tumbler is. Someone asked me what my tumbler is and I had to tell her that I don't do gymnastics.

Vaping is actually pretty cool. I don't smoke, but I know people who use the local shops which make custom formulations. Since they can put whatever they want in their ecigs, a bunch of them have tapered down their nicotine content. They are breaking the addiction without having to break the physical habit. In the mean time, they aren't inhaling the carcinogens in tobacco smoke.

Not surprisingly, the big tobacco companies are working hard to outlaw local shops that make custom formulations. They are in the vaping business themselves, of course.

There's definitely money to be made if you tap into that market.

I never took you to be a hipster, Nick!

Giving up smoking is good, but why keep the 'physical habit' if you break the nicotine addiction. IMHO there are two reasons to smoke, to get the nicotine, and to look cool. (Both bad reasons of course.) Vaping does neither of those things. Just my old man opinion.

A lot of people find that the physical habit is harder to break than the nicotine addiction. Vaping allows them to decouple the two. I believe that anything that allows more people to quit tobacco is a good thing.

Seconded. (Still think they look like stupid babies, though ...)

I use Reddit, but what I don't understand about it is how so many of the users can't seem to Google anything for themselves. It's like a community full of OldBoys.

Re: Popular stuff you have no clue about.

Wouldn't be surprised to find out vaping does as much damage to the lungs and has as many (albeit slightly different blend of) carcinogens as tobacco does. I'm guessing studies are being done but no findings yet or we'd have heard about it. Meanwhile, I'm with Kurtee Dee, it looks silly, but at least it doesn't stink like cigarettes. Having once smoked, I can't stand to be around people who still do.

After reading this thread I realize there are alot of popular things these days I have no clue about, nor do I really want to. I have my favorite things, I don't need to know everybody else's. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

This site has a ton of posts like that. What's the difference? The question usually prompts a discussion between other people. It's no different than in real life, for that matter. I could google answers to every question I have, but the discussion that comes from asking other people is more valuable to me.

Re: Popular stuff you have no clue about.

And if it weren't for those discussions on reddit and other sites like ours, those google searches would bring back less info.

It's not like google has the answers - they just get it from other places.

Re: Popular stuff you have no clue about.

Reddit's layout confuses the fuck out of me.

And I am still trying to get a proper grip on all this hash tag business. I still don't think I understand exactly why and how that works. I still call it the pound sign.

Yeah I've tried with Reddit and a couple of my friends are constantly on it and reference it a bunch but to me the whole site feels like a cluster fuck. I do like reading the Ask Me Anythings with celebrities on occasion but otherwise I don't go there very often.
