The Washington Post quoted a comment I made on DVD Talk, in an article on "dynamic pricing" done by Amazon for a short time in 2000 (They charged different prices to different customers for the same item, depending on who the customer was).

I started the "She's Cute, but she's a He" thread when we had the Adult forum. It lived for a loooong time.

I just went through all the threads I created since 2010. I have almost nothing. I guess I'm proud I'm still around.

You should tell us about the time when you became DVD Talk Admin. Did it involve wild parties, dancing girls, truckloads of money? Did you take the lump sum?

Re: What is your proudest moment on dvdtalk? Brag thread...

I like my reviews threads and the discussions and reviews that ensues. And, people seem to like them and have even asked me to create ones for a specific movies.

I liked this thread and also being mentioned in Cracked.

I also really liked this joke I made 8 years ago and still remember it to this day: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/9517505-post2.html

Your proudest moment should be that hat you had custom made before that shit got shut down for everyone else:

Re: What is your proudest moment on dvdtalk? Brag thread...

Every once in a while, I manage to make a particularly articulate post. This is one that made me proud.

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/11807374-post282.html

Also, I have given some relationship advice that makes sense to other people, and that makes me happy. In my life I've changed from that guy who couldn't even talk to girls to a guy who has good advice.

Re: What is your proudest moment on dvdtalk? Brag thread...

I haven't done anything of significance. Most of my contributions have been behind the scenes. You know, using the RTP feature to turn in posters who are trying to stir things up around here. Thanks to me, few were subjected to a guy shilling his Best Buy office supplies. You're welcome.

Seriously, this is a cool idea for a thread. I remember I made Bandoman laugh once and it was one of those moments where I felt like I was now one of the gang.

Much like real life I haven't done shit worthwhile here.

Oh wait, I can't remember the thread or the poster but I was the first to question why said poster put a space between the last word of his question and the question mark. That picked up steam for a page or two.

Yeah, I got nothing...

If ElScorcho was still posting this would no doubt be what he defined as his proudest moment. His warning to many of us lead to a long running forum joke:

Re: What is your proudest moment on dvdtalk? Brag thread...

My proudest moment is when I realized that being on DVDtalk helped me get to the point where I was able to drastically reduce the amount of money I spend on comics. I guess I should also thank Alan for this realization.

I'd have to say, this thread: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk/567961-can-someone-photoshop-skills-help-fix-pic-please.html
when Infidel posted this:

then crankyman fixed it with this:

which inspired me to do this:

It took me a while to find that image, as the image linked in the thread is no longer available.

There was another one that I really liked, but I can't find it. I must have it somewhere... It was an image of a guy (or girl?) that had just joined the forum and requested some change to the picture they posted which was either of the new member or her husband and their baby. The guy was shirtless with a hairy chest, so I shopped the chest onto the baby. I wouldn't even know what to search for the find that one.

Any day I can post here on this forum without embarrassing myself or inspiring ridicule is a high point for me.

Maybe can't beat that, Norm, but at one point I was being quoted in four different members' signatures simultaneously. All different quotes, btw.

Not any one specific moment otherwise, but a never-ceasing source of amusement is reading references to and being directly addressed from members who have loudly proclaimed that they have put a member on "ignore" and recommend that others do the same. Can't take credit for that, though. Bragging rights belong to them.

Ah, Jay. You underestimate the value of inspiring ridicule.

Embrace the ridicule. Bask in it. Let it flourish.

Fulfilling the needs of others can be so...fulfilling.
