RIP stp115 has passed away. 02.19.2017

Friends, I have unfortunate news to share.

DVDTalk member stp115 (Sean P.) passed away last night.

DVDTalk members and I received this news this morning via a post in our Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes Guild Chat from one of stp115's close personal friends for twenty years and fellow guild member. His friend didn't have any details about what happened, yet, though stp115 was a single dad who leave behind a son (Kain). His friend said he'll be in contact with me if/when he gets more info and certainly, if others know more than me, by all means, offer it here if it's appropriate. Mods, if there is a better way to share this news, I'm all ears, thank you.

I hope we can all give each other this space to share and come together around stp115. Perhaps down the road this may serve as a central space to come together around other DVDTalk members who pass away and if so we'll cross that bridge (and thread title) if and when we come to it. stp115 was passionate, funny, and an important part of our community. I miss him already.

In the meantime, I offer you all my condolences and I pray all who knew stp115 may feel the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit in the midst of grief now, in days or weeks to come, and ten years from now when a random memory pops in and grief is fresh all over again. I'm available here or by PM, if you'd like to talk.

Regards,
story

Wow, was just reading a thread with his posts from last night, and came to this thread hoping it was a joke about something he said here. Damn it.

Rest In Peace stp! Very sad and tragic. I'm a fellow SWGoH guild member and shocked to hear of his passing. He was active yesterday in our chat.

I don't know if I ever had any direct contact with him but the name looks familiar and I don't remember ever thinking "fuck that guy" so my condolences to his family and to my fellow DVDtalkers who knew him better than I did.

RIP stp115

R.I.P., stp. What was his first name? I was reading some of his posts in the religion and DVDTalk thread. All the best to his loved ones.

I don't recall having any interaction with him and the screen name doesn't ring a bell but still sorry to hear. RIP.

Re: RIP stp115 has passed away. 02.19.2017

We rarely get to find out what happens to members on this forum when they suddenly stop posting. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, since it's sad to find out that a member actually passed away

I hope his family is ok, if any kind of donation things come up i'd love to throw something their way.

Man. He was just posting.
I hate to speculate, but maybe something tragic like car accident or something?

Re: RIP stp115 has passed away. 02.19.2017

Scary ... his last post was in the religion thread and contained this:

I dunno. When I pass, I'll let you know. I used to be a Christian, accepted Jesus, and then gave up theism. As for the rest, I think that I covered it up above.
Well, I guess one of us in that debate now knows the answer.

Thank you stp115 for the brightness you brought to our lives.

stp115 made significant contributions to DVD Talk, and will be missed. Sean made very good points over his time here and I took them to heart.
