Re: RIP stp115 has passed away. 02.19.2017

I have forwarded this thread to Sean's brother so he can see that dvdtalk was an important part of Sean's life.

Thank you everyone.

I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family - Both blood and "chosen." Thank you Lena for coming back to inform the Forum. I wish you all the best during this time.

Rest in peace, stp.

I didn't know him well, but for 6 months or so, many of us here became tight in a Star Wars mobile game. It was a microcosm of the DVDTalk family. He was an integral part of that world. I can't even imagine how hard this must be for those that knew and loved the real Sean. I'm heartbroken.

That's the day we all learned Sean could sing (and rap apparently!) and after that it was mandatory that he perform Handlebars at every Rock Band gathering.
It's a really great memory.
I am going to play this right now and hope he's singing along with me.

I don't really recall any personal interactions with him, but that doesn't lessen the impact of his passing. My sincere condolences to all of his friends, family, and loved ones.

My brother and sister showed up. My brother pulled a small brown paper bag out of his pocket and... there it was. Kraken. Sean's most favorite drink. I laughed and cried at the same time. I put handlebars on my phone and we drank to him.

Wow this is shocking. I remember I interacted with him on few occassions on NotJustGeeks. What a shame.

RIP

I wish his son the best and a bright positive future. Being without a father is saddening.

Bad news. I enjoyed his thought-out discussions, like the one linked earlier.

Boy, this is rough.

If there is a way to make donations to help with expenses, please let us know. Sean was important here.

Sorry to hear of his passing. Way too young.

If inappropriate jokes would make you feel better, we can help.

This made me smile. That's something Sean would say (and has said!)

Lena, like TomOpus, I remember you both from NJG and how close of friends you both were to each other. So very sorry for the loss.

He looks a bit like Roger Ebert in the pic. Oh well, RIP.

Re: RIP stp115 has passed away. 02.19.2017

So I came across another memory today. A couple of years ago I had the crazy idea to participate in a 5k mud run. Of course I was able to get Sean to do it with me, convincing him it was "such a great idea!".... If you call getting mud in every crack and crevice of your body fun, then we will go with that. I don't think either of us got all the mud particles off for days (and that's when I realized I hadn't thought that idea completely through). That is when he swore off mud runs and told me "dirty" is a whole new meaning for me now, and its not the kind he liked. Innapropriateness, always. Wouldn't have had him any other way.

Thanks for letting me share.

That's a great pic. It's great when you have a friend that'll either join in or is able to talk you into something crazy.

I was going to say the same about the pic, Tom. The rest of your comment is a great reminder of what friends do for one another.

Thanks for posting that, Lena.

I'm enjoying these memories Lena. It really helps us appreciate who Sean was. Thanks for sharing.
