Re: RIP stp115 has passed away. 02.19.2017

I just wanted to share that I was one of his best friends. He was 40 years old. Please keep his son, family and three very best friends in your thoughts. This is a trying time for us. I wanted to share this picture from when him and I went to a book signing a few years back. He's in the black shirt. Rest easy Sean. I'll love you always....

Other than reading his posts, I never had any interaction with him - but damn, reading the header to this was still a kick in the gut. I hope his kid has family to be with, and will be okay. Damn ...

Very sad news. Must have been a tragic accident if he hadn't been sick. My condolences to everyone that knew him.

I've wondered what has happened to certain members who just stop posting and I guess in a community this size, death is always a possibility.

Re: RIP stp115 has passed away. 02.19.2017

It was surreal when I realized the person Lena was posting about on Facebook this morning was the same person in this thread (got to Otter late in the day). I remembered Lena and him over at NJG. If my memory serves me, someone mentioned his username in a previous post.

Lena asked if I could post the photo but decided to do it herself. She's very broken up over this so its pretty strong for her to post.

Thanks for coming back to share Lena. I haven't really talked to you since the NJG days, but I thought of you when I heard the news. All my deepest condolences to you and the rest of his friends and family.

If you don't mind sharing, was he sick, or was there some kind of accident?

So sorry to hear this. I enjoyed STP's posts but didn't have much interaction with him

We're a dysfunctional family but a family nonetheless and it's sad we've lost a member of that family today.

All my thoughts..

RIP, Sean. I find it heartbreaking when we hear something like this. This is only an online forum, but reading about so many people's lives here makes is more than just another online site for me. I always wonder where so many went.

I hope Sean is at peace.

Re: RIP stp115 has passed away. 02.19.2017

It's so hard to decide if sharing is the right thing to do. But awareness is so important. I'm trying to decide if he were here, would he get mad at me for being honest. I think no. He always appreciated honesty. He was not terminal. And there was no accident. He decided this world wasn't for him. Thank you all for your condolences and thinking of me. This has been one of the hardest days of my life. My email is lenamarie1979 at gmail if anyone needs to keep in touch. His son is doing okay considering. But I'm sure he has a long road ahead of him. It's never easy to lose a parent. Especially at such a young age.

Hard to even find the words. My heart goes out to his friends and family. Very surreal moment for this community of ours. Please post any info on donations. A lot of times family will encourage friends to donate to a worthy cause in the name of the deceased. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Damn. Shit like this really sucks. Obviously goes without saying, but I am saying it nonetheless.

I feared it was something like that, given his posts about that topic over the years.

Wasn't he the primary parent?

Lena, first thanks. My thoughts are also with you. Please let us know if there is any type of fund set up for Sean's son.

I will definitely let you know if a fund gets set up. Right now there is no talk of it, nor has his mom said anything to me about it yet. He was very involved with his son. He didn't have full custody but he had more days and evenings than the average every other week dad. He was a fantastic father.

Re: RIP stp115 has passed away. 02.19.2017

Oh, Lena! That's the update I hoping not to hear! Thank you so much for sharing. I appreciate your vulnerability and we will hold you in tender care here.

That's so hard, I cannot imagine. A person's completed suicide is an unbelievable puzzle, with pieces that don't fit, pieces that look one way today and another day tomorrow, and some pieces are just plain missing. That's one of the hardest parts of trying to piece it all together. It will take everyone who knew him and loved him holding each other as dear pieces in his life as that puzzle lays out before you. I hope you and his family all have support networks who you trust and love you; you are each worthy of it.

I am sorry about what happened and wished so much more for Sean. We remember in Romans 6 that death does not have the last word, and Romans 8 reminds us that nothing separates us from the love of God - even suicide. We are sought by God, pursued even in the darkest of depths (Psalm 139), and there is a place prepared in eternal life (John 14).

In the midst of brokenness, comes healing.
In the midst of mystery, hope.
In the midst of despair, light.

As time and needs unfold for you, Kain, and others, please let us know how we can help. We will each do what we are able.

So sorry to hear this. I lost one of my good friends the same way about a year ago - also divorced and leaving young children behind. My deepest condolences Lena.
In time the hurt lessens and the good memories come back. But it takes time.

Thank you story. 12 hours later I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. I just ate, for the first time today. Just got out of bed. For the first time today. Ive never experienced suicide, not even a friend of a friend of a friend. Let alone someone near and dear to me.

I'll miss him. I'll miss his inappropriate jokes, or that time we were at a school function (our kids go to school together and are same age) that he randomly smacked me on the ass in front of his ex..."Sean!!! Wtf!!!" to which he replied "Oops sorry" and I could only shake my head.

Just the essence of his jovial and positive self. I've gone back and read all of our text messages from this week, just to find a sign, anything, SOMETHING. There was nothing. He remained upbeat and Pervy to the end. Typical Sean. Typical jokes. Not so typical guy. He was amazing to the ones he loved. And dammit I'm so angry and so sad, all at the same time.

Sorry to get so personal. I'm just having such a hard time with this...
