How often do you upgrade to a newer phone?

Do you upgrade once a year? Or once every two years?

Every couple years. Maybe three. The minor annual upgrade on iPhone isn't worth it to upgrade more than that.

Last time I upgraded was a 4S to a 6S Plus last year. That was a pretty big difference.

Mine was in September of 2015 from an iPhone 4 to a 6S Plus. I don't think I'll be updating any time soon...

every two years, more or less, but planning on sticking with the 6 plus for a while longer. Not that I love it or anything (actually kind of sick of the walled garden) but I'm just tired of paying for these damn things.

Re: How often do you upgrade to a newer phone?

Usually when my phone breaks. I did go iPhone 5c > iPhone 7. Because I ran out of space and it was annoying me that I couldn't download more useful apps.

Either way, it's got to be out of contract for me to upgrade. No way I'd pay $500+ for a new phone.

I've had the same Sprint number for 17 years now. Maybe had 5-7 different phones.

I'm not on a set schedule, it depends on what phones are out that year and if they seem worthy of an upgrade over what I currently have. I kept my Nexus 4 for over 2 years, but then upgraded from a Nexus 5X to a Pixel XL in a year.

I last upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy S4 to S6. That was around May 2015

I may consider an upgrade to an S8 if it comes out this year, but not sure yet.

It will depend on the quality of the phone, features, memory, camera and reviews. I'm in no urgency to do so.

Oh, about once every 12 years or so. We just upgraded to flip phones from an old Nokia 6220. Maybe someday we'll get the implants...

Bout 2 years, but maybe longer and stick with 6 for awhile. It works well and nothing on the 7 is remarkable. We'll see about the 8...

Same boat as many, upgrade every two years or so. Galaxy S7 now, S5 before, and Droid X before, maybe something else. Wish it was 3-4 years but phones just don't last with everyday use.

Generally 2 years. I've had a Droid X, Galaxy S3, and now an S5. Thinking about an LG this next time though.

Generally, 2 years. My Galaxy S5 is 2 years old now, and I don't like it, so thinking Pixel.

Re: How often do you upgrade to a newer phone?

About 3 years. Just switched from 4S to SE. I could have probably got more use out of the 4S, but upgraded since I liked the SE size (as opposed to the 6 or 7)

Re: How often do you upgrade to a newer phone?

Every two years since Sprint gives me a huge discount for renewing (and I pay $55 for unlimited web/text/weekend/nights/cell calls and 500 mins for landline calling M-F 7a-7p and I use about 10 gigs of data a month so I'm not going anywhere til they kick me out and if they I get my contract broken for free anyway).

But this last time it took me about 3 years. I had the Samsung S4 and then the S5 came out and it was more a lateral move than an upgrade and then the S6 came out and it sucked and then the next iPhone came out and it sucked and then the S7 came out and I was in. So two years or whenever the next worthy-upgrade phone comes out, whichever happens later

I only update my phone when there is something I want that I can't do on my current phone. I only updated to my current 6P because I wanted to use project fi. Otherwise I would still be using a galaxy s3.

Never. I don't like to waste money. I'm still using the old, dependable landline. Has suited me perfectly well for the last 40+ years, and will for the foreseeable future as well.

Re: How often do you upgrade to a newer phone?

I bought new phones recently for both the landline and the cellphone. The landline was the first new phone for the house since the 1990s. The cellphone was to replace one that had stopped working after a few years--don't recall when I bought the last one.

Re: How often do you upgrade to a newer phone?

Only when I have to.

I had a flip-phone until a few years ago. The only reason I updated was because the old phone's bluetooth wouldn't work with modern cars' bluetooth.

Re: How often do you upgrade to a newer phone?

I usually get an itch to upgrade about once a year, although I had my Lumia 1020 for about two years. But 2016 was weird for me, since I bought three phones.
