Is there a chance of these two storms colliding in the ocean?

If that happens, there's a 75% chance of a Sharknado.

No, they say it might loop around and come back for another round.

Ive been watching this hurricane since it formed. Stocked up on water and food last weekend. Lucky for us the storm tuned north and didn't continue our way. All you Otters in FL, stay safe.

Re: Matthew: The Serious Hurricane Edition

I googled other stories that mentioned the hurricane wobble in this thread, and a Florida paper had a comments section where a Floridian last night basically said Matthew was much ado about nothing. I do not think that is quite right, but given all of the drama leading up to the potential landfall of Matthew it does seem like the event itself is a far cry from the disaster scenario predicted for a good chunk of the Florida coast and parts of South Carolina and Georgia.

I mean it is good that a bullet was basically dodged, but it also means the news stories about this storm became a lot less exciting to read.

25 Waffle Houses are closing because of the storm - guess that means it's really bad.

25 Waffle Houses closed amid Hurricane Matthew here's what that means about the storm

It seems they always blow hurricanes and storms out of proportion. This looks like t won't do much if any damage at all

Nope, this was a "we got lucky" scenario. It's a really nasty storm that thankfully stayed off shore.

If it would have come on shore as a high 3 or 4, there would be ridiculous amounts of damage. As it is, the US got lucky so far, Haiti? Not so much.

Weather is not an exact science. And if it goes the other way, the weather people get crucified. It's a can't-win situation.

Exactly. Although it does seem they get it wrong more than they get it right I would rather they err on the side of caution.

The only downside by being wrong more often than not? We'll start seeing more and more people not trusting the weather service and not evacuating. We already saw some of it with this one. Then we'll have another Katrina.

It's alright, it happens with many hurricanes and most of the people on the east coast of Florida are aware of how bad it would have been if the eye came inland. I'm in Jacksonville and the storm is still kicking our ass, but it's more tropical storm than anything.

The media always plays shit up, but this one had us worried because it was literally 20 miles from serious destruction.
