Best underarm deodorant?

What is the best underarm deodorant that keeps the smells away for hours and also doesn't stain shirts. Currently I'm using Arm & Hammer Essentials Fresh. But I was looking into something different since it's running out now.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

i use gillette clear clinical cool wave. it's clear, so it doesn't stain. works pretty well, but it's more expensive (i pay $6.99) for each one.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

I try a lot of different deodorants (I buy them on clearance). And for my money the ones that work the best are the Degree solids.

Axe Effect Phoenix - the clear blue stick - I hate their white stick, because they're all powdery.

I've been using axe effect for years and all the womens loved it it.

I use Gillette cool wave as well, although I don't think it's "clinical". It works well and doesn't stain. The 2-pack usually lasts me a few months.

Another vote here for Gillette Cool Wave. Used it for years. The secret (no pun intended) is getting one that's both a deodorant AND antiperspirant, which this is. Plus, I like the scent.

I hate men's deodorant. I actually use a woman's one: Dove's Cucumber/Green Tea.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

I used to use Mitchum gel for years but they changed to the roller-ball style and I switched to Axe Apollo; it's not as strong but it doesn't leave my shirts rock hard.

Gillette Series Cool Wave clear gel antiperspirant/deoderant. My wife buys the 5-pack of the 3.8oz size (used to be 4oz) at Sam's Club for less than $13.

It's the only deoderant I've used that doesn't turn weird/sour-smelling when it combines with my underarm sweat, doesn't stain my shirts, has a clean fresh scent. Been using Gillette Series Cool Wave gel for years.

I use Crystal Deodorant Stone

http://www.thecrystal.com/crystal_story.cfm

I would not say it is the "best" - but I like how there is no perfume and natural.

Cucumber/Green Tea? What a weird name. If I were going to name something based on a smell, cucumbers and tea would never enter my mind. Obviously, that is one way to tell women's products.

I use Old Spice original stuff. Can't believe how much a lot of these sell for now.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

If sweating is a problem, you might want to try Certain Dri. You use it before you go to bed (doesn't matter if you shower in the morning, you don't need to reapply it). It shrinks your pores to stop sweating in the first place.

I find it works well, but can't use it every night because it will cause itching. You may not even need to use it every night for it to be effective.

I also alternate with a product called Degree Clinical Strength. It's similar in application, but has a fragrance, and doesn't cause itching. I alternate because it's not as effective at stopping sweating.

My shirts have thanked me!

That's the one that I use because it gets the job done and it's aluminum free.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

Seems like shampoo and deodorant have gotten crazy expensive.

I usually use Gillette Cool Wave as well, multipacks at Costco work out to $~3 each.

But when I run out I end up using my wife's Secret for a month or so until I remember to buy more.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

I think when I started deodorizing my pits I used the brand my dad used, Right Guard. After a little bit of that I switched to Old Spice: Fresh and have been using that ever since. It's always worked well for me, though I'm not much of a pit sweater.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

Is this thread about simply deodorant or antiperspirant?

Either way I'm not sure I can answer. I use antiperspirant and if I use one for too long it stops working and I have to switch to something else. Been using Degree for a couple of years and then all of a sudden it stopped working and I'm smelly by the afternoon. Switched to Old Spice and I'm good again. Got a few Axe's to try out.

They have gotten so expensive as was mentioned above.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

I'm in the Gillette Cool Wave group. Have used it for years and always been happy with it. Odd to see a third of the responses in the thread be for that one. Its shelf space doesn't indicate that it's pummeling the competition or anything, so I'd guess the representation here is disproportional for some reason.

Yep, it's cool to see that I'm far from the only one using Cool Wave. That's what I like about it, it's both a deodorant and antiperspirant, and doesn't stain my clothes.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

From the immortal George Carlin:

If you run out of deodorant, go into the kitchen, and put a bay leaf under each arm. Doesn't stop you from perspiring, but you smell like soup!

Yup add me to the list as well. Shocked to see so many using it.

And my gal loves the smell of it...

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

Not currently using Cool Wave, but I have used it a lot in the past when I was into gels. Kinda gotten away from those lately (not sure why) but I enjoyed riding the Cool Wave.

Re: Best underarm deodorant?

This thread reminded me that I'm out. Needed gas anyway, so just got home from Costco. Six pack of Cool Wave antiperspirant deodorant was $15.

Toss me into the Cool Wave group as well. I am also surprised that it got so many mentions
