slop101's Official Soda / Cola Thread!

In recognition of slop's love for soda I've decided to split the soda talk off to it's own thread.

Actual soda talk:

My go to is Diet Coke. I drink multiple cans of that a day. I like pretty much most types of soda though so I'm not one of those dicks that throws a fit when a place only has Diet Pepsi.

My secondary is if I go to Taco Bell I'm 90% of the time getting a Baja Blast Freeze or regular Baja Blast.

Hey, I'm one of those dicks who throws a fit at Diet Pepsi places!

Nah, I actually just drink water instead, or if I'm hungry enough to eat at Arby's

I will go in there with a bottle of Diet Coke in my hand already.

Re: slop101's Official Soda / Cola Thread!

I only drink one soda a week either Cherry Coke Zero or Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper, mostly do the water with a lemon/lime wedge or flavored seltzer.

Re: slop101's Official Soda / Cola Thread!

I had cut down to just a soda or two a week while I was working in an attempt to lose weight.

I got laid off a few weeks ago and have been drinking maybe a soda a day. But I've also been walking 3-5 miles a day and have lost about 10 lbs.

I usually drink Pepsi with real sugar.

Re: slop101's Official Soda / Cola Thread!

this new thread

I love soda but I've been trying to cut down for years. It's always been the worst when I get it for free at work. Now I have maybe a couple a week, and I'm trying to skip it even when I go out. But I don't drink beer, so when I go out with friends I do indulge in a soda.

Coke Zero > Diet Coke > Diet Pepsi

Unsweetened iced tea. Black or green, caffeinated or decaf, fruit and herbal and spice. I love it all.

It's a good thing I never developed much of a soda habit, because I'm having weight loss surgery this fall and after that I won't be able to drink it at all.

Tea is not soda or cola!! Keep that crap out of this thread. Make your own tea thread if you must but I don't want to read about it here.

No artificial sweeteners for me. I used to drink Shasta cola, but they started putting sucralose in it. So, I moved to RC.

Re: slop101's Official Soda / Cola Thread!

Cherry Coke Zero for me. By the case. It's kind of a problem. Maybe my only real vice anymore.

I feel like a weirdo at times though. I prefer Coke Zero or Diet to Coke "Classic" (although MexiCoke is the best) and Regular Pepsi to Diet.

I'm also a big fan of Dr Pepper TEN. Not only is it the most Manly diet soda around,

it also tastes really good. Way better than regular Dr Pepper. I always stock some in my work fridge.

Lately I've been enjoying Mountain Dew's Black Label, and still the occasional Dewshine, and even though I'll always be a die-hard Coke fan, I kind of like those new 1893 drinks Pepsi has out now, regular and ginger cola.

I've been drinking Diet Pepsi for the past twenty years. I drink a Diet Coke once in awhile but it tastes like syrup to me.

^ I feel the same way about Pepsi. Way too sweet and loses its carbonation too quickly.

Re: slop101's Official Soda / Cola Thread!

So about 2 months ago, I was reading 11/22/63 and found out about Moxie for the first time. Luckily I live in New England, so I was able to access it immediately. I really like it, and was drinking it a lot for a time, even though I'm not a huge soda drinker anymore (though I thought I knew them all). Cutting down now, but, I'm interested in attending the Moxie festival this summer. And on top of all that, it's actually where the term 'moxie' comes from.

I don't think it loses carbonation, it doesn't seem as carbonated to begin with, which is why I prefer it over Coke. Something about the carbonation level in Coke makes me belch like crazy. I don't have a problem with any other soda.

Marketing at work.

Dr P and Pibb are my 'go-to's' so from worst to first:

Diet Dr. Pepper

Dr. Pepper 10 & Pibb Zero

Dr Pepper

Dr Pepper Cherry Vanilla

Pibb Xtra

Pibb Xtra Cherry Vanilla

Re: slop101's Official Soda / Cola Thread!

I've been trying the 1893 soda Pepsi has out now regular and ginger cola.
$1 at walmart. smaller than a 20oz bottle of soda which is always too much for me.

Will be drinking some MD Pitch Black that is out now in cans and 20oz bottles and fountain at some Speedway gas stations.

Love Cherry Coke Zero

However, I've been trying to cut back on my soda intake. I used to drink 5-6 cans per week, but it started dissolving the enamel on my teeth in a few areas.

Has anyone sampled these flavors?

I think there was a thread here years ago that mentioned them.

Jarritos Tamarindo (all of the jarrito's sodas are great, though)

I was thinking about starting a Soda thread weeks ago but never got around to it. It should be separate

We've argued about the Dr. Pepper stuff in previous threads. While Pibb is definitely the best, I still think Diet Dr Pepper and Ten are the best diet alternatives out of all sodas

I'm a big fan of Cheerwine. I think it's only available in the Southeast though.
