Saw Pibb Xtra (my favorite) at the store the other day...$5.50 for a 12-pack. Fuckin' Trump tariffs.

I'll still buy on sale but I'll wish all the soda companies luck and cut back if that becomes the norm.

The Refreshe Grape soda which is name of the generic brand that you can find at Safeway is pretty good.

Nitroglycerin Nitrogen instead of Carbon Dioxide. Places have been doing that with cold brew coffee for awhile now. Doesn't make it fizzy but kind of like a Guinness almost, I guess?
I'm not sure how that will work out with a Pepsi... but I'm damn interested.

I dunno I feel like Pepsi tries too many gimmicky versions of their products. Some are good but a lot are just kind of weird or gross tasting.

I reallyliked the special 1800 colas Pepsi had a couple years ago. They just kind of disappeared.

Re: slop101's Official Soda / Cola Thread!

Great, now we can drink Pepsi and get the bends as a special bonus!

What new, lame gimmick will these companies think of next? Why not improve the taste and quality of the original by putting real sucrose back into it, like it used to have in the '60s and '70s? Nah... we can't ever hope for that simple expediency. They wouldn't make enough $$$ off that, so it's vetoed.

Or, has my chain been yanked, and this "nitro" Pepsi is just an early April Fool's prank?

You can buy iced coffee that has been Nitro’d at Target and anywhere that sells coffee in cans and bottles.
not sure if you’re being facetious but real sucrose? Pepsi has a line of sodas that has real sugar for years now.

Wrong, sir, WRONG!!

The "real sugar" Pepsi on sale for years now is made with Beet Sugar (cheaper) than real table sugar (sucrose). Table sugar is AKA cane sugar. Chemists would tell you that, yes the two are identical, but there does seem to be a difference in taste, at least to me.

Pepsi and those others who claim to have products made again with "real sugar" cheat and all use beet sugar instead of sucrose.

I believe Mexican Coke *is* made with real sucrose. Ditto for Passover Coke.

Looks like Mt. Dew has rebranded/made a mash up of their Game Fuel and Amped lines into Amp Game Fuel instead of the yearly video game marketed Game Fuel flavors. The cool thing is they finally came up with a reasealable plastic top on the cans. Pretty cool.

Four flavors, Berry, Tropical, Cherry and traditional Dew. I've tried Cherry and Tropical. Both are decent.

Yeah, this is unfortunately the case. Beet sugar is becoming king in the US, and only because corn syrup...was too expensive and compounding negative publicity (although many foods still have it so corporations aren't THAT scared and are simply pandering to a specific consumer base). The US Government allows only "sugar" to be listed in the ingredients even when the sugar comes from beets. Cane sugar listed on the ingredients is as close as one can get, I think.

I prefer regular Pepsi over the Pepsi with real sugar which has no taste and tastes like chalk.

You put the Coke in the glass bottles and Coke in the aluminum bottles in the freezer and they still taste warm when you open them.

Well I have been drinking Coke a lot more than I would like to recently, but I'm looking forward to try Orange Vanilla Coke when it is out at the end of the month.

My vanilla ice cream awaits this for a curiously tasting float.

They changed the formula for Cherry Coke Zero after initially leaving it alone when rolling out the Zero Sugar formula change . It's not as good as the original but it's fine.

Sounds interesting, but I wonder which artificial sweetner abomination that the regular version will be "cut" with so that Coca-Cola can save a penny a can.

The Orange and the Black Cherry are pretty good. The Root Beer was fine, but I wasn't as into it. Haven't tried the others.
I will have to try those.
I recently got Dr.Zevia. Do not like - it's too sweet for me. Nothing like Dr Pepper. Diet Dr Pepper is so much better, but I'm trying to find stevia alternatives.
Are other flavors of Zevia better? The price is ok - $9.5 for 20 cans when on sale.

I finally found the Orange Vanilla coke today. I tried it in the Coke Zero and I must say it's actually really good.

Re: slop101's Official Soda / Cola Thread!

I'm very happy to see that Coca-Cola didn't cheap out by adulturating the new orange vanilla coke with artificial sweetners:

https://www.coca-colaproductfacts.co...vanilla/20-oz/

I can't wait to try it. Seems like creamisicle orange from "reviews" I've been reading, which sounds fabulously good...

Thanks, Coke, for not kowtowing to the artifical sugar gods of Greed, like Mountain Dew did, and keeping it real... I'll support that decision with my wallet!

I saw a commercial for the orange vanilla Coke at the movies today and immediately had to go to the store after to get some. Opted for the Zero version. Very good.

Tried vanilla orange coke, too heavy on the vanilla for me, and I hate coke's vanilla flavoring
