I'm almost the exact same (except based on 87.5 hours every two weeks) but with my second job it averages out to 55 per week.

Usually 40-50, sometimes more given the nature of the job in IT.

Re: How many hours per week do you work?

I am a college professor. Some weeks (rarely, but more often since my daughter was born), I work 10 hours, all on grading/class prep/teaching. Most weeks, I range from 40-70, and all of those additional hours are research based.

Re: How many hours per week do you work?

At least 40, sometimes more. However, I can report with considerable happiness that my employer allows flexible schedules, so I work 10 hours per day, four days a week, with Wednesday as my day off. It makes a little mini-break in the middle of every week and gives me a way to schedule my biweekly manicure, doctor and dentist appointments, and household repairs on Wednesdays so I don't have to use precious vacation hours for them.

I serve clients, so I do have set hours that I have to be online, but there's also flexibility in my schedule as long I let people know I'm going to be "out of the office" and I have managed my deadlines appropriately.

I do non-profit campaign management, which is basically a form of database work.

I also really like working remotely because it means that I can go back east to visit my mother without taking vacation.

40 hours; though, I do work some emergency overtime when bad storms roll through. The pleasures of working for the local electric utility.

Re: How many hours per week do you work?

This varies for me from week to week. My regular work is 37.5 hours with a one hour lunch break, however i also get paid additional for working outside normal hours remotely from home. This might change shortly as i have been offered a second (or is that third) job to do that would be partially work on campus and partial remote work. On the plus side i get left pretty much to my own devices, i get two and a half days holiday each month which can rollover year to year (for a maximum of 60 days....they give you a pay out for any days beyond that) and as i work for the Government and its a University in PR i get around 26-30 bank holidays each year. So i can't complain....except for the money, but even thats ok (for PR).

Re: How many hours per week do you work?

25-40 hours a week, salaried. If I can get all of the shit I have to do done, which can vary a lot week-to-week, I blow out early.

Re: How many hours per week do you work?

Roughly 40 or a little less. I'm in sales so i leave the house around 7:00 - 7:30 and get home around 3:00 - 3:30. I also have paperwork to do after I get home. fridays in the summer are usually pretty light. Many of my customers work 4 - 10's in the summer so are closed on fridays. I try to finish up and be home by 2 to get my paperwork caught up

I'm on 12 hour days as well. 36 hours one week, 48 the next. I work 4 days on, 3 days off, then 3 on, 4 off.

I live for my 4 day weekends!

Re: How many hours per week do you work?

47.5 to be exact. I'm in at 7:30 and out the door at 5. There isn't much to do in the office after 5 other than answer emails and I'd rather just do that at home. I'll answer emails for 20 minutes everyday once I get home.

Re: How many hours per week do you work?

I'm in the 45-55 range. Typically 10hr days with the occasional off-hours stuff for deadlines or escalations that may come up. Salaried, so trying to improve the work/life balance. Been a challenge for a while. Frequently WFH with some reasonable travel.

Re: How many hours per week do you work?

"Oh being self-employed must be so nice", my friends say...yes, working from home and taking calls between 6am and 9pm is awesome. Working 60+ hours is thrilling. :/

And honestly I do love the freedom and flexibility to work those hours wherever I want, but I often wish I had the simple 40 hours, benefits, two weeks vacation, and not having to think about work outside those 40 hours.
