Re: Happy Canada Day!

Shouldn't the proper thread title be "Happy Canada Day, Eh?"

I appreciate the fact that you didn't mention that crappy band Rush. For that, here's some Mounties!

I'll be visiting your country in about a week, so in an effort to be nice, I'll just say "congrats."

“Congratulations, sorry” is how Canadians congratulate each other.

I'm rude enough already, speaking French would just make it worse.

Re: Happy Canada Day!

Canada would take a step up in my book if they could fix the roof on Olympic Stadium in Montreal. I thought it was supposed to retract?

Retract?

We sunk more than 1.5 billion into that thing and it took 30 years to pay it off. It would require a completely new roof and nobody wants to pay for that.

And... a bit of googling... well crap...

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montre...says-1.3016520

But:

"The Quebec government report says the stadium roof is beyond repair. It hasn't yet decided whether it should spend millions to replace it or simply remove it."

Just be prepared--if you're in Quebec, this is the type of fare that you'll currently find in the cinema multiplexes:

You don't have to. We're doing fine without you.
