Re: Which woman should be on the new $10 bill?

I know there was talk about putting a woman on a $20 bill, so isn't it a downgrade to put a woman on the $10? Most ATMs dispense money in multiples of $20. $10's aren't rare, but they're not nearly as common as $1, $20 or $100s.

http://www.federalreserve.gov/paymen...ncy_orders.htm

According to my math, only 8.7% of paper bills printed in FY2015 will have been $10. Only the $50 and the $2 are less common.

I'd go Sandra Day O'Connor before Eleanor Roosevelt. That is, if Madalyn Murray O'Hair is out.

I'd be good with Harriet Tubman or Eleanor Roosevelt as well.

I have no hesitation about putting a woman on our currency. Just not on the ten dollar bill, or the One dollar note. Replace all the rest.

Bitcoin will make American currency obsolete within our lifetimes. I nominate Wonder Woman for this honor. Her many years of service in the American government makes her qualified. She is also quite patriotic.

Fair enough - my apologies. I thought you were saying the whole thing was utterly ridiculous.

They can't use Justice O'Connor because we don't put living people on our currency.

(I remember an episode of the 80s revival of the Twilight Zone where a time traveller saves his hero, JFK, and eventually JFK figures out what's happening because the guy has a lucky 1964 Kennedy half dollar. And it turns out that "cosmically" either Kennedy or Kruschev had to die, and the world turns out a lot worse wuithout Kruschev running the Soviet Union in the 60s).

Re: Which woman should be on the new $10 bill?

Perhaps they should just wait to have this discussion until 2017. It will then be obvious that the first woman President should be on a bill. But I suppose she'd have to die first given this new information.

So you're saying elect her and then kill her.

I might donate a "Hillary" 10 to her campaign for the cause.

Edit: I'm of course joking. I should not have to say that, but I do. So... yeah.
