Batman family photo causes outrage

I really, really don't understand the internet anymore. Seriously people?

http://www.nbc-2.com/story/29342881/...t#.VYHWw0aPvYg

Hartford, WI (WDJT) -- A Hartford family said that after being praised for a superhero-themed photo shoot with their baby, they are now the target of internet attacks.

People were upset over the fact that the photos took place on train tracks. Roxanne Daly set up the caped crusader photo shoot for her husband Mike, a massive Batman fan, as a Father's Day gift.

Mike was dressed as the Dark Knight, his son Finn as the boy wonder Robin, and Roxanne as the damsel in distress. The couple posted the pics online and said they were an immediate hit with friends and family.

Within hours it went viral, the pictures got picked up by a number of publications like Buzzfeed and the Daily Mail.

"There were 200,000 likes when we woke up the next morning," Roxanne explained.

With all the attention came criticism, people were saying the Dalys were putting themselves and their baby in harms way and promoting illegal activity. They added that's when it began to spiral out of control.

Mike explained that some people posted their home address online and were threatening to come to the house at night.

Wisconsin State law says that only railroad workers and "authorized newspaper reporters" are allowed to walk along or on the train tracks.

The Daly family said they had no idea about that and never thought it would come to this.

The Dalys said they made police aware of the photos and threats, but authorities are not taking action on either right now.

The Dalys are also keeping the pictures and planning to hang them up soon, but add there won't be any more photo shoots on the tracks.

This is completely unsafe since we know trains make zero noise and can run you over in an instant. Notice how they are on a blind curve? They'd never see or hear it until it was right on top of them and not only kill them but also cause the train to derail spilling it's load of dontpeoplehaveanythingbettertodothanworryaboutthisstupidshit.

Am I the only one outraged that the picture wasn't a young boy standing over his dead parents?

Stealth ninja trains like the stealth ninja zombies in The Walking Dead.

They can be more quiet than you think, and their distance and speed can be an illusion. The shiny rail head indicates this is an active line, but I've seen do-gooders complain about similar pics on obviously abandoned tracks.

It's maybe not the smartest thing in the world to do, but there are far worse things a person could do. Threatening someone over something so relatively trivial comes to mind.

They were more likely to be hit by a space ship from the planet Krypton falling from the sky than a train while taking the pic.

more offensive than a television depiction of a shamed naked woman burned alive against her will on her wedding night offscreen.

Re: Batman family photo causes outrage

Anyone ever walk across a train trestle?

When I was a kid we had a train line branch that went from the main line to a paper mill about a mile away. It was still active, but rarely used. At one point it crossed a stream at a height of about 25 feet for 2-300 feet. We would walk it once in a while because we were stupid and it saved like 2 minutes of walking between two of my cousin's houses

I was alway scared as hell. Partly because of a train and partly because of the gaps. It was like constantly having that looking over a ledge feeling.

PS. Never had a train come.

The guy is f**king Batman, you don't think he would get them to safety if The Joker, Catwoman, or a train was approaching them?

Posing for photos on railroad tracks has nothing to do with "social justice."

When people start posting addresses of the people in the picture and making threats - it becomes social justice.

The family forgot you can die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.

It said right in the article that they didn't even look to see if a train was coming. And, being in the UK, I'm sure they were all drunk. Even the kid.

Anyhow my friends and i used to walk along the train tracks all the time. We would hear or see a train coming and move out of the way. Never once was there any kind of close call. Except for one kid who got ran over - but we didn't like him anyhow.

No, those are psychos. This is more "mommy blogger" outrage than SJW stuff.

No, not really.

Complaining about someone posing for a photo on a railroad track and posting their address on the Internet is just being a dick.
