It's been like that for a while. Their free shipping is a joke.

Makes sense to me. It's late on the East Coast, so today doesn't count and it gets processed tomorrow. Minus the weekend (which i've had weird experiences with, some items deliver fine without a charge but others don't, but since this isn't sold by Amazon directly maybe?). Friday, Monday, Tuesday seems about right for 2 day shipping.

It's not just the free shipping. The $3.99 one day shipping says Monday.

Is tomorrow a holiday or is USPS closed or something?

That's Prime "free" shipping, not what they used to call "Super Saver" shipping (I guess they dropped that name when they made the minimum $35).

What Fumanstan said is correct though. After a certain time, the order has to go out the next day. And of course, weekend days don't count. You just don't want to order something with 2-day shipping this late in the business week.

Its not sold/shipped by Amazon. You have to select that in your search section separately. What you are buying is being sold/shipped by PlusDigUSA. Amazon only sticks to those ship dates when they control the inventory.

Processing, it's a third party seller who sent the items to Amazon for shipping. That's how it is a Prime item, because of this they have to send the order to the warehouse that has the item. Then it is processed and shipped from there.

If it said Amazon as the seller then it would be different. The warehouse closest to his address that has it in stock gets the order first and processes it usually within hours. It's then shipped from there so less time spent locating the item.

Right, Two-Day Shipping doesn't mean you're going to get it two days after you order. I ordered something on Saturday, and my two-day shipping promised it to me on Wednesday (FTR, it actually came on Tuesday).

That may not be what you expect (you didn't say in your OP), but that's how the deal works.

Saturday delivery for $8.99 derp.

You can't be poor, you're an Otter and we're all wealthy/attractive/well-endowed.

I live in Alaska, don't get me started about shipping issues.

Re: Amazon is a joke. I guess their definition of "two days" differs from mine

Nope. That's two business days. Package ships tomorrow (Friday). FedEx and UPS 2-day service would get it there on Tuesday.

I bought some ear drops for my dog today (around noon, so it already shipped). And they're guaranteed Saturday.

For what it's worth, I stock a handful of inventory at Amazon. So I know their system pretty well. It's beautiful.

We also have a few mammoth Amazon warehouses in Phoenix. If it's stocked in Phoenix, same-day (when placed before noon-or-so) and overnight shipping is free under Prime.

But Alaska is another country and the postal system doesn't go there.

When I was a kid if we ordered something from a catalog we didn't get the darn thing for 3 weeks. Minimum. And we didn't have remotes. We got up and changed the damn channel! Goddamned spoiled generation. Get off my lawn!

Haha. My expeience with catalog orders... I once pre-ordered the "Die Hard Trilogy" games from a listing in Gamepro. Check was cashed a week later. And then the release date kept getting delayed. Keep in mind: Die Hard movies were my favoritest thing ever at the time. It took a good 6-8 months to show up at my house.

I wish I could hunt down that ad. It'd be a little piece of nostalgia. Can't find it on Google.

Re: Amazon is a joke. I guess their definition of "two days" differs from mine

I had to send a check before Tax day so I sent it 2 day priority on April 2nd - just to make sure there was enough time. It didn't arrive until April 25th. The post office told me that because it did arrive I wasn't eligible for any sort of compensation. Terrific. So the post office apparently has has a different definition of two days also.

There's usually extra processing with those companies as other said, I personally have no problem with Amazon, I ordered a spool of filament on Sunday and got it Tuesday. That seems appropriate to me. Their support is usually pretty great too, pretty sure they'd fiddle your faddle if you asked.

Mine offers 2 day shipping delivery on Saturday too. Must be the location and where this 3rd party seller is.

Re: Amazon is a joke. I guess their definition of "two days" differs from mine

Being in Vegas I will get most things within one or two days if I choose Prime shipping. However, I've been racking up the free media credits since I don't need anything immediately.

For the OP, the reason it is taking longer is because you bought the item from a third party vendor and NOT Amazon.
