DVDTalk bragging thread

We have some seriously depressing threads going on right now. So this is all about what makes *you* awesome. I would like to read what makes you proud about yourselves. I'm betting that it'll be pretty great.

As for me...

*I've eradicated a fucking virus. Admittedly through a technicality, but fuck that. I proved that a virus that had been on the books was the same as another virus. Fuck yeah I claim that.

*I've been back stage and on stage (and above stage) at concerts. Plural.

*I've found an unknown sample of Smallpox. This is a really good and scary thing.

*I've gone 180 degrees. As in -80 degrees to +100 degrees fahrenheit in minutes.

*I've talked my way into multiple threesomes, even though I have pretty much zero "game".

*I talked my way into a free trip to Germany.

I'm betting that most of you have even better stories. Please tell.

I got the nerve to go on stage and perform stand-up comedy once and was surprised I was not booed off stage. It was terrifying but I saw it as a belated test of manhood.

I usually suck all the joy and happiness out of a room, (and on this forum), so it was a nice change of pace.

Oh stop. You don't suck the joy out of the forum unless your alter ego is grundle.

Re: DVDTalk bragging thread

In Mario Kart 64, on Wario Stadium i was dead last and the others were already around the final bend. I got a lightning, hopped the final wall short cut, landed on the first placer, and took the win.

it was fcking glorious (for getting the win but more so for the sound of utter defeat from that first place guy).

I was the last guy one of my high school girlfriends dated before she decided to enter the convent. That's right, I'm second only to God.

That's one way to look at it, anyway.

I directed a trilogy of successful superhero films that set the tone for an upcoming superhero universe at a major studio. Also, I shot a DVDtalk member's dog in Reno, just to watch it die.

More seriously, there's a good chance I've interviewed your favorite musician.

I participated in a minor league baseball contest where I had to throw a perfect strike through a small hole in a board. I had three chances, and I got it on my first throw. I felt like the king of Cedar Rapids, Iowa for about 3 minutes!

Re: DVDTalk bragging thread

- I own some of the actual original artwork drawn for the very first Transformers comic in 1984 by Marvel, including the only Autobots group shot. (I posted the pic in the Random Image Thread in Comic Talk)

- I came in first place in the 100-person elimination round in the 1990 Nintendo World Championships held in Cleveland. I got to sit on a throne on stage during the next round of gameplay, where I was soundly defeated.

- I have a room in my basement dedicated entirely to Lego.

- I was a volunteer Big Brother for three years until I moved to a different county. I still hang out with my "little" brother when I can.

- I am getting married this October. Don't tell my fiancée that I listed that last.

Re: DVDTalk bragging thread

* I've held the world record (recognized by Atari) for Asteroids, playing 36 hrs 43 minutes on a single quarter, final score 16,904,380

* I've managed to avoid multiple threesomes with stp115

* I consider myself a hack on piano, but this one time, after band rehearsal (U of Mich. Marching Band), I stuck around late to play the piano at Revelli Hall because we didn't have one at the dorm. I was playing ragtime (I love ragtime). Finished a song, turned to leave, and the director of the School of Music was standing there, watching me play. He said "You play that quite well." I was floored, first off, kind of shy about having been watched, I was just playing for fun, and second, over what he said. I stammered something like "Thanks, I just play around with it." He said "No, that's difficult music to play, you do it very well." Probably one of the highest compliments I've ever received.

* I played Rock Band with 3 strangers and Ed Robertson (Barenaked Ladies) on vocals, he called us a kick ass rock band. I also have a couple of photos of myself and about a thousand other people naked with BNL.

Re: DVDTalk bragging thread

I hiked to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite

I've mastered cooking Juevos Rancheros and my recipe surpasses all others

I once drove the entire length of the state of California, from the Oregon boarder to San Diego in one 48 hour period

I once met Jennifer Love Hewitt, but didn't realize who it was until afterward

I once met Alex Van Halen, but didn't realize who it was until afterward

I once was taken on a private tour of Club 33 at Disneyland by the daughter of one of the park's top executives

I was in the opening ceremony of the 2000 Olympics in Australia. My high school marching band was one of a handful that were selected to go and perform. We also played at the Sydney Opera House.

Re: DVDTalk bragging thread

Many, many women claimed I was the best they ever had in bed........... right up until they slept with someone else.

I hardly ever have wet farts

I am a jack of all trades; I do martial arts, repair cars, do home improvements, woodwork, serve as a peace officer for the town.

I am a master of none. I suck at all of them

I am very conceited and not afraid to tell you how great I am, assuming I ever do something worthwhile I will brag about it.

OK, now I'll be serious.

I made my own kitchen cabinets
I've re-built an engine before

From when I drove limousine:
Kim Cattrall once told my dad I was one of the funniest guys she ever met
I once had to figure out how to wake up Diane Sawyer who was napping in the backseat of my car
I once shared a piece of chocolate cake date style with Thurman Thomas the running back from the Buffalo Bills
People thought I couldn't see through the smoked glass while they screwed in the back of the car, I could

Once a girl selling magazines came to my door and I ended up banging her a half hour later
When another girl showed up the following year she made me take her out that night but I banged her too
When a guy showed up the third year I didn't

I have two kids that turned out to be decent productive human beings
I dropped out of college but finished my degree online when I was 40

Re: DVDTalk bragging thread
