By day, I'm a Curriculum Technology Specialist at an elementary school; by night, I'm an adjunct English instructor at the local community college. I'm 52 and still trying to decide what I really want to do when I grow up.

I seriously want to ditch the technical/engineering field to get into law enforcement but couldn't picture myself starting at the cop level dealing with people's pointless bullshit all day - I mean it would make sense for me to try and get into the field, I have a military background and an Associates degree but at age 39....I don't even know if they'd take me....I'm in great shape (feel better now than I did in my 20's) but isn't there a cut-off age?
So what's your take - Is it worth it? did you start out as cop? I'll stop now with scott1598 questions.

I work mostly in quality control at a local business. We manufacture all kind of small parts for big companies (BMW, Schaeffler Group).

work as a Server/Shift Leader for a national restaurant chain.
Not the most glamorous job, but been there long enough where I write the schedule and can pretty much call my own shots.
Most importantly this helps a lot with being able to take care of my 18 year old Autistic stepson

Really interesting reading the range of occupations, but it helps to explain why the discourse is stimulating.

"I saw her standing at the gates of the Lincoln Tunnel. Dare I approach her? My heart pounded inside my chest. I felt a burning in my loins I had never felt before. Thus, I realized I had been... Kicked in the Butt by Love."
