Re: Favorite candy?

I picked up some of the resurrected BarNone chocolate bars from Cracker Barrel and they are really good.

Also Hershey has the Fresh from the Factory Reese’s Peanut Butter cups available and on sale for only $25.

I got a box.
well worth it.

Iíve always been curious and they were still available so I ordered a box too. Curious to see if theyíre worth the hype.

Seems to just be a gimmick. Realistically, why would these be any "better"? They the same product. At $10 a pound (on sale?!) plus outrageous shipping costs, plus tax, it's a gigantic rip off. When you can go down to your local drug store and get a pound of the exact same Reeses cups for about $5 or $6 - with a distant "sell by" date, which means they're very fresh. Less than 1/2 the "sale" price, no tax, no shipping. Easy as can be. Are people really that gullible and stupid?

Re: Favorite candy?

I can't vouch for these Fresh from the Factory PBC vs current day retail PBC, but I believe I told the story here, before...

When I was a kid, I bought a pack of PBC, and biting into them they were disgustingly dry and probably rancid. I wrote a letter, complaining, and Hershey sent me a box of 6 or 8 chocolate bars. The PBC were incredibly fresh and delicious.

Those days, the packages didn't seal completely (i.e. not airtight), and could have been pretty old, considering they didn't have any sort of date on the packaging.

Current packaging is much better, and I'd hope supply chains get the product on the shelf more quickly, as well.

Looking at the packaging for the Fresh ones, though, they're not full size? My biggest complaint these days, about PBC, is that ours (in Canada) are too small. Three in a package, but they're only 17g each. The US version are 2 in a package, but 21g each. The fresh ones are only 15g, for some reason.

Re: Favorite candy?

Yes the FFTF cups are a smaller size.
I got mine today onLy 3 days from placing the order.

Previously they were shipped in a sealed plastic jar.
This one came with them in a heat sealed bag inside a box and that was it.

Last time I bought these a couple years ago I could smell the peanuts when I first opened the plastic jar.
You could smell the freshness.
I didn’t get the fresh peanut smell this time but the taste was there.
The peanut butter is fresher and just tastes better. Little bits are in there that I don’t really notice in a shelf pbc.

The chocolate is better. It doesn’t have that wax like consistency of the shelf pbc.

Im okay with getting a package of these once a year or so.

Its a treat that’s all.

Thanks for mentioning these

My order arrived in 2 days. Sealed bag like yours. The size is the same as ones you get in a Halloween mutli-candy pack from Sam's club. The individual packaging is exactly the same as those (I still have some).

And I agree the peanut butter is noticeably 'fresher'. More creamy for sure and I think better flavor. I compared to a same day bought 2 pack and the Halloween (which was as expected the worst of the 3).

Re: Favorite candy?

I got my box of factory fresh Reeseís tonight. Mine came in a box with a sealed bag inside too.

I think theyíre good. I kind of want to do a side by side taste test with a regular store bought version. The few Iíve had have seemed fresh though.

Also the bottoms donít stick to the paper and peel off the bottom chocolate layer as often tends to happen with the normal store bought ones.

Re: Favorite candy?

I have to go with the Lion bar from the UK. Grenade bars are also pretty good, although that's a protein bar

I just had a peanut butter cup with potato chips yesterday.
Theyve been out for about 4 or 5 months.

Its good. The chips are actually crunchy.

Re: Favorite candy?

That's intriguing.

We don't eat a lot of candy, but yesterday I picked up a bag of Dark Chocolate Peanut M&Ms. Mmmmmm...

Re: Favorite candy?

I love dark chocolate - the darker the better - but the Dark Chocolate M&Ms just don't work for me. And that felt... odd... as I like regular Peanut M&Ms. I really wanted, and expected, to like the dark chocolate ones.
