Within my rights?

In the USA, I can picket.
In Arizona I can wear a weapon in public.
A 24" dull machete hanging from my belt is not a threat.

I'm I stepping over my bounds picketing while wearing the machete?

"I was on my way to trim some weeds, but stopped to picket!" Will be my defense. I can attach some pruning tools, and other "garden" items to my belt to legitimize the machete. That way it is a suggested threat, not a real one.

I want to picket in front of the courthouse.

Of couse the "picketing" itself is all hypothetical.

No I do not live in Arizona. I am going there for a few days to help my Auntie who is having a problem with a judge. Oh and I will help her get her yard done.

Are you one of those weeds in her back yard?

Re: Within my rights?

How is a machete not a threat, regardless of how dull it is? A dull machete can still hack someone's head off. It just takes more than one swing.

Always wack your weed in your own yard. Machete is optional, but I'd avoid wacking when a machete is in the near vicinity of your person.

Re: Within my rights?

If someone is coming towards me with a machete, I am not trying to ascertain the sharpness of the blade. You will be shot.

Worked for Indiana Jones.

It's kind of like the question, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?"

Instead it is, "How many swings does it take to hack someone's head off with a dull machete?"

Re: Within my rights?

When you are confronted by the police, and you will be, be sure and quickly take the machete out of its sheath and lunge toward them so they can see how dull it is.

Why not bring your delicious chocolate revolver to share with everyone while you're at it?

Re: Within my rights?

Cops here recently shot a guy who was "cosplaying" with a samurai sword. I don't think they're going to stop and ask if your machete is dull or not before opening fire.

Re: Within my rights?

I doubt you can have a weapon on the court's property. Go for it, though, and have someone update us if you go to jail.

Need pics to determine guilt. If you're too dark, you might get shot.

Just ask yourself, "What would Jace do?"

Would Jace go out in public with a dull machete?
