This seems like a punishment by pasta pass to me.

I wonder if this will be gone in seconds or if it'll last a bit...

Re: Olive Garden Never Ending Pasta Pass

I'm tempted. I wish I lived a little closer to an Olive Garden.

With that family pass, you could take friends out to eat on a daily basis. Then when this thing expires, you'd expect your friends might return the favor adding more value to the deal.

I'm also inspired by the stories of folks who gave away many of the to-go meals to people in need.

Re: Olive Garden Never Ending Pasta Pass

Not doing it this year, I'm 35 lbs lighter than I was last year, not looking to put it back on. I was happy to have maintained and not gained any during the promotion last year, despite visits 2-3 times a week (lots of salad and Diet Coke, with an occasional small serving of pasta), but I'm just doing smaller meals now, not going to tempt fate or test my will power.

Apparently I'm the only one who's never been to an Olive Garden.

I've been there. Never had the desire to go more than once a year much less 3 or 4 times a week. It's basically American style faux Italian food.

You must not have voted in the poll.

Although there were choices for people who haven't been!

They put it in the FAQ section:

Individual Pass: $100 + sales tax
Family Pass: $300 + sales tax

I'm considering this for my move to Texas.

Nevermind. It would be expired by then anyway.

Well, you have 50+ minutes to make a decision. Last year, when these were offered, they went pretty quick.

Wife and I went recently. It's been years since the last time. It's honestly no better than your average stouffers lasagna.

Agreed. Olive Garden can cram the all-you-can-eat breadsticks and salad up its corporate asshole. I want good Italian food.....not fast food.

Has anyone experienced a ton of that oily-salty dressing on their salads? I get looked at weird when I ask for a separate dressing dispenser.

My GF orders dressing on the side almost everywhere, and I don't recall her ever being "looked at weird". Is that not common where you live?

Well I think people go there, because they like Olive Garden's take on italian food. I would hope they aren't convinced that is what stuff taste's like in Italy.

Their potato & sausage soup is amazing, and when you dip one of those garlic bread sticks in it? Holy criminy, that's heaven. AND everytime I go any italian restaurant, I always try the chicken alfredo, and I have been to an authentic place yet that can beat Olive Garden's chicken Alfredo.

Re: Olive Garden Never Ending Pasta Pass

I think he means to say "Good food that's Italian-inspired".

FWIW, Olive Garden is a full step up from most Italian buffets and actual Italian fast food (aka Fazoli's, Sbarro). They aren't a particularly good restaurant, however, they're an excellent deal for someone trying to take the family out -- a majority of their entrees are under $15 (keeping in mind that Fast Food prices are rapidly approaching $9), and come with unlimited soup/salad and breadsticks. The zuppa toscana soup w/ breadsticks is the best thing on the menu. You can normally find a mom and pop Italian place for around that much, but you'll end up with less food and frankly you have to hit quite a few to find the good ones.

I don't particularly like the place, but it occupies that place between fast food and nice restaurant pretty well.

Re: Olive Garden Never Ending Pasta Pass

I haven't been in a while, but their pasta fazioli is almost like chili. Two bowls of that, and I can take practically my whole entrée home.

It is what it is: Casual Italian that's a step up from Sbarro.
