Haven't had one that woke me up in a while. I heard it was 6.0, just north of here. Lots of stuff swaying and rattling but didn't have anything fall here.

It had a long roll to it but 89 was stronger as far as being in the Souh Bay. Sounds like some parts of Napa are without power and phones.

Re: pretty big earthquake in the SF area?

I used to live on the Hayward faultline when I lived in the Bay Area and would feel earthquakes ALL the time in my little apartment that I lived in, in San Lorenzo. I'd even wake up before they hit in the middle of the night as if I "knew" they were coming - and then would feel my bed shake real good a few times before drifting back off to sleep.

I was never scared of them. But tornadoes out here in TX - that's a different story!

Woke both of us up in the city. First time experiencing an earthquake and I will admit to being a little freaked out with our building rocking back and forth. I was having some weird ass dream and was incredibly disoriented when I jolted awake.

Surprising how long it lasted.

Woke me up as well. Didn't know what it was until the morning. I thought someone was walking on the roof, since the house was creaking

Thought I was getting robbed. I live in Sacramento, so it wasn't as bad up here.

Didn't feel anything in the South Bay, though I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, so it may not have woke me anyway.

Thousands are dead. I'm surprised the media hasn't cottoned onto this. If only they cared.

I'm ok. California is still in one piece cause I don't see the ocean.

Re: pretty big earthquake in the SF area?

I didn't feel it... but my cats freaked out. If we were not busy kicking them out of the room I probably would have felt it.
