Do you have a vehicle with a cassette deck?

Do you have a vehicle with a cassette deck?
My 2003 Acura RSX (bought new) has a cassette deck in the dash. The only tape that I've used in it was one of those deals that allow you to listen to your iPod through it. The sound output for that was terrible, so I stopped using it. That's the extent of its use. Of course, I can't remember the last time I used the CD player either...

No. 2 cars ago had one. I used to play some tapes I had until it ate one. From then on I used one of those cassette cases that has a audio wire coming out of it so I could plug in my MP3 player and it played through the 'cassette' and through the sound system.
Last 2 cars have CD players and an audio jack.

Yes. 2004 Infiniti G35. I use the cassette deck constantly to feed my blue tooth adapter streaming Spotify off my iPhone. It sounds fantastic.

It's been probably 13 or 14 years since I've had a car with a tape deck. I got in my cousin's car a few weeks ago and she had one, and it immediately stood out to me, like a blast from the past. So much so that I mentioned it to her.

I had one with my first car (1997 Dodge Intrepid) before I replaced it for a CD player. The car I had after that which was a 2005 Toyota Camry had both a cassette deck and a CD player (I think it may have been a six disc changer but don't remember for sure). My current car which is a 2007 Toyota Camry just has a six disc CD changer. I didn't use the cassette deck often but I sort of liked having it. I had a couple books on tape I used it for.

I had one in my Honda Accord. The car that got stolen twice in 13 months. I bought Reach the Beach by The Fixx, which was the first cassette I bought, back when that album was originally released. Played it constantly 'til it started to warble. Then the car got stolen again so it's no longer a problem.
Current car, '97 Dodge Caravan also has a cassette deck but also a CD player. All my CDs are in storage, so I use one of the tape thingies to listen to my ipod or whatever when I'm not just jammin' to the oldies on the radio. The sound is great either way. Infinity speakers, don't ya know.

I remember my 1984 Camaro had a cassette deck, not in the dash, but it was an upright unit that swiveled on a little pedestal, right at the front of the section between the front seats. It was sweet!

We still have one in my wife's 2003 Santa Fe. We use it with a cheap tape adapter to listen to our iPhones and it sounds fine for our purposes.

Yes it does. Doesn't work anymore. My power windows don't work either. Radio works. Other then that my car works fine. Gets me where I'm going. I'm long past my new car phase. It's just transportation.

Per this article, 2010, but apparently most car manufactures had stopped years before.

...There are no plans for manufacturers selling 2011 models in the United States to offer a tape player either as standard equipment or as an option on a new vehicle. “Lexus was the last holdout,” said Phil Magney, vice president for automotive research for the IHS iSuppli Corporation, a firm that conducts technology industry analysis. “We actually stopped tracking cassette players in cars some time ago...

My 2000 passat had a tape deck with optional in dash cd player and optional trunk cd changer.
Current cars have aux input standard, but I also made sure to get one with Bluetooth.

My last car, '94 Chevy Cavalier, had one but I used a cassette adapter for my mp3 player. I have an inert '74 Chevy Nova in my garage with one -- it ate more than its fair share of tapes in the '80s and '90s.

My last car (1993 VW Fox) had a cassette desk with an "aux in" jack. I was the first guy on the block listening to my mp3 player while driving.

Re: Do you have a vehicle with a cassette deck?
I finally replaced the factory head-unit / tape-deck and speakers from my 1992 Corvette last month. It had the factory premium Bose sound system. The output from the head unit was not amplified; each speaker had it's own mini-amplifier. Over the last 22 years, three of the 4 amps failed. They were either dead or made a nasty scratchy/screech noise.
I replaced it with an entry-level CD/Radio/MP3. Now I had a new problem: I was looking forward to having hands-free Bluetooth in my car. But my cell phone is an ancient flip-phone and its Bluetooth implementation doesn't work with the new system.

Re: Do you have a vehicle with a cassette deck?
I use to have a 1995 Honda Accord that I drove up until 2012, and that had a cassette deck.
Now I have a 2013 Honda Civic, and even though it has a smartphone/MP3 USB hookup, I haven't used it yet (though that's mostly because I don't put music on my phone - too lazy). Only used the radio and CD player..haha
And apparently my car can read my texts to me. But haven't tried that either. These were all standard on these new Civics, instead of upgrades.
