Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

I'm glad to see Whataburger rank relatively high on the list. They are by far my favorite fast food burger place. The food is fresh every time I eat there. And they start serving breakfast at 11pm, which is a plus.

I finally ate at an In-N-Out in Dallas and was not impressed. I don't understand how they rank so highly.

Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

I'm not a huge fan of Jack In The Box, but I think they have the best breakfast out of all the fast food places, especially their steak&egg burrito and their breakfast-melt sandwiches. Though Del Taco is starting to step up their breakfast menu as well.

Another classy Carl's Jr ad. "I can pull one off in my car on my way to work", "Hey honey come over here and pull one off"

OK, speaking of the quesarito ... I have not tried it yet, nor do I plan to. I'm not a big fan of rice on my burritos. I picked my daughter up from work the other day and she asked me to stop at Taco Bell so she could get something to eat. She ordered a quesarito but asked them to substitute beans for the rice. They charged her for adding beans.

Why the hell do places gladly hold off on giving you a main ingredient (without a discount) but charge you to add a comparable ingredient?

While I am on this rant ... I was at a softball tournament a few weeks ago and the concession stand there was charging an extra 50 cents for jalapenos for your nachos. It's a CONDIMENT! What's next? Charging for ketcup, mustard, and pickles/relish?

TomOpus, you may be right ... it may be the variety factor at Jack in the Box. Plus you can get breakfast all day.

It's not about the value of the items you are substituting, it's about screwing up the flow of a fast food establishment to make your special order.

We have four of them here, and I think I've been to them twice in 8 years. The allure was gone.
Chick-fil-a opened up here several years ago. Tried it once and didn't see what all of the fuss was about. I don't understand how food that is that greasy can be so bland.

I must be the minority, though, since the place is always swamped. So folks must either love it or they just go there because it's owned by the God hates **** people.

I think chick-fil-a is generally bland, but their chicken breakfast burritos are fantastic. Definitely my favorite fast food breakfast you can get.

Screwing up the prompt and accurate service of Taco Bell?

Mmm, Pizza Hut. Although I like their regular pan pizza over their other gimmicky options. I tried the cheesy bites one last time when it came out and didn't think much of it since it makes the rest of the pizza too thin.

Not sure how Raising Cane's didn't make the Forbes list for chicken, unless they're still too "regional" despite having over 150 locations now.

You ate at the ones in Dallas. The problem is that the Dallas In-n-Outs suck ass.

I've had In-N-Out all over California, Phoenix, and Vegas. I haven't noticed any difference.

I'm guessing the one in Dallas uses a different distribution facility, or maybe Dave just had a bad experience. In-N-Out and ass sucking don't usually go together.

The Dallas ones are too far from the distribution centers. My sister lives in the MetroPlex and is here visiting. We had In-n-Out and she says it's way better here. I've never had a bad experience in Phoenix, Vegas, or California either.
