The hadee's I went to did not have the guac burger that Carl's Jr has. I also didn't see any of the 6 dollar burgers but maybe it was just my location.

Yeah, there are menu differences between Carl's Jr and Hardee's even though they're the same company. Plus I think there are regional offerings. I saw a Hardee's out here that had fried bologna on the menu.

That vomit looking stuff is the sausage gravy I assume?

Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

I admit that I'm a closet Arby's fan, but I very rarely go there because they're too expensive for what you get (IMO). There's a location down the street from me I pass every morning on the way to work, and noticed a sign up for a new King's Hawaiian roll Roast Beef BLT sandwich. It's of course their roast beef sandwich with bacon on it but on a full-sandwich size King's Hawaiian roll. It looks really good.

$6 Burgers are known as Thickburgers at Hardee's. It's the same thing.

Yeah, Hardee's does regional offerings. Even select locations had the Big Shef back a few years ago before they were slapped with a lawsuit.

I have to admit I too like Arby's. The King's Hawaiian Roast Beef is awesome and the curly fries are tasty.

Arby's ain't too bad, but it is over-priced for what you get. The sad thing about Arby's is that, for whatever reason, it's so much easier to make fun of than any other fast food chain.

I never went to Arby's as a kid because my dad once went there and threw up, and you know how that goes: Regardless of the cause, you never go back. So it's still an afterthought for me.

I think Simpsons writers find it an easy target.

Can't find the clip but there was also the gag when Kirk and Luann got divorced and Kirk suggested they throw the dead possum that was in the community pool over the fence to "let Arby's deal with it."

I like Arby's. I like the Chicken Corden Bleu sandwich, unfortunetly it is only limited in certain Arby's chain and mine doesn't carry it no more.

I only go to Arby's when I have coupons. Advertising their roast beef as "roast beef" is taking creative license. I love their curly fries though. Roy Rogers still has the best roast beef sandwich and it's the real deal.

Arby's is way too expensive without coupons. They need to bring back the 5 for $5 roast beef classic and 4 for $5 cheddar and beef deals from back in the day!

Yeah, I liked those 4 for $5 cheddar and beef deal. Didn't do it too often, though.

Yep, Gravy has a way of looking nasty but y'know, with amazing taste.

I've always liked Arby's, but lately I just get the chicken bacon and swiss.

That's the only time we went there when I was a kid.

Now you can get 2 Beef N' Cheddars for $5.49 if you have a coupon. Talk about inflation.

I like Arby's too, and also miss those 5 for $5 deals. Now it's like $3 for a regular roast beef sandwhich which is definitely too expensive.

When I was in high school, I got food poisoning from Long John Silvers.

Stayed away from the chain for about two years after that; the place I got sick from ended up with a big "Under New Management" sign in front of it about six months later.

The Arby's near me has a 5 for $5.95 deal on the weekends. Still a good deal.

Carl's Jr is testing a biscuit/donut. Must find and try!

Yep'. I've got no real problem with Chili's. But I got really sick for a day or two after eating there once (whether it was food poisoning, or a random illness). So it's just a turn off now.

I'm pretty sure Arby's "roast beef" is just a big, brown hot dog that they slice thin.

I can't vouch for the validity of this, but my cousin was a manager at an Arby's when he was in college about 10 years ago and claimed that their roast beef came pre-packaged in paste form. Basically, they formed it in to the shape of a hunk of beef and then slice it.

I went to Carl's Jr. last night and noticed they removed the $6 Burger name from all of their large sandwiches. They seem to be streamlining both Hardee's and Carl's, as they now have the Thickburger branding. The only one with that distinction now is "The Original $6 Burger", which they've always had at Hardee's.

It was bound to happen. I'm pretty sure it's because they're actually $6 dollars now, and will probably go up in the near future. When they first came up with them, it was to say they were as big/good as $6 restaurant burgers, but they were around $3 to $4 when first introduced. Now they're right at $6, and it would be silly to call them that when they'll inevitably cost more than $6.

~$6 Burger

All they'd have to add is a little squiggly line thingie by the dollar sign.

It hasn't been on the menu for awhile, but I always get a Chicken Cordon Bleu at Arby's. They still make it if you ask. Love that sandwich.
