Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

When Popeye's first came out as an establishment it had the Popeye's Popcorn Chicken Sandwich. It came in an aluminum foil. A big sandwich too. It was delicious and crunchy. That is what Popeye's at the time was also known for. Then they discontinued the sandwich. This was many years ago.

Now they came out with the same sandwich but instead they added more ingredients/flavor. But it's still the same damn sandwich from many years ago. Not too many people realize that.

There is literally no information on that anywhere.

That is only information that some OG's like myself know.

The sandwich back in the day came in 3 popcorn crunchy strips. On a quarter sandwich bread that resembled Italian bread.

They also had great lightly battered onion rings that came in a box. Loved those, back in the day.

I miss the scallops from Long John Silvers.

A long time ago they replaced them with clams which taste like deep fried, battered rubber bands.

Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

Remembering now when I first discovered the Usenet groups back in 1995, one of the first ones I found was alt.food.taco-bell. One posting I remember was someone saying "Taco Bell always puts out things that we get addicted to, only to take it away later."

Need to upload the Taco Bell training tapes I have, one of them promotes the Gorditas which were a huge thing for a while but I think they've only got one type left now.

Now, I rarely stop by my local TB, and then only order the $1 cheesy bean & rice burrito, without the rice, the only other worthy menu item of note.

Bean counters!?

I would recommend another lesser-known item on their dollar menu: the mini chicken quesadilla.

They aren't on the menu, but around here, at least, you can still order the chili-cheese burritos (chilito) at Taco Bell. I still buy them.

I miss the old enchiritos.

If chili-cheese burritos aren't on the menu, why do they still have chili? I don't think they use chili in any of their menu items.

But Taco Bell's still gonna have some wacky shit. Like, coming 9/12, they're introducing a "Toasted Cheddar Chalupa", which has cheese baked into the shell, with whatever fillings you want, I guess. Has potential...

When did McD''s change the egg white delight? It no longer has white cheese, and seems like it's just a regular muffin, not a wheat one anymore

But ... I just ate one?
It's still on their website, and shows it's no longer special cheese or muffin: https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/p...e-delight.html

BK's Spicy Chicken Ceasar:

Not spicy. I think they might have given me the wrong patty? I dunno. There was WAY too much ceaser, and it was really salty.
And I finally tried the BK taco. Only was able to stomach one bite.

It was like McDonald's slapped two chicken tenders on a bun with some onion slivers and BBQ sauce. I wondered why McDonald's had even bothered to release it.

😂
