My second job, Naugles, was infinitely better for Mexican fast food but they are, sadly, long gone.
Oh man, I used to love eating at Naugles! Then when they shutdown, a Del Taco replaced it and I loved eating there! Red burritos and their crinkle cut fries! It sucks that the closest one to me now is about an hour drive otherwise I'd probably be eating there all the time......I guess that's probably a good thing lol.

I'd love to try one of these though....

Had that yesterday! It was pretty good. A nice fast food burrito.

Anyone try the new extra long bbq cheeseburger at Burger King yet? 590 calories which is less than the Whooper 650 calories.

I haven't but it looks like a standard Rodeo burger just longer, with two patties. The Rodeo burger is pretty good for a value menu item.

It could use another set of hamburger patties and bbq sauce on the bottom bun

Burger King has got to be one of the worst, if not THE worst, fast food place in existence.

Well, I guess my hopes of avoiding people from bashing fast food was dashed quickly. Can we leave the snobbery out of this if you don't like these places? If you only like In n Out and Del Taco, maybe this isn't the thread for you.

Anyway, I went to Taco Bell today; they didn't have any signage or menus updated for the Quesarito, but the cashier said they had it. It's not bad, I like the extra cheesiness of it but it doesn't really seem like a quesadilla wrapped around a burrito, moreso a burrito with some cheese in the part of the existing tortilla that wraps around the food. Probably not something i'd get again over the other Taco Bell fare.

Sorry man, it's just that I used to like Burger King until they started microwaving their burgers, using wilted, soggy lettuce, mushy tomatoes that are still defrosting, etc. Repeatedly. I know it's fast food, but it had gone down so hard and so drastically in the last few years.

Anyways, for laughs, NPR just "reviewed" Taco Bell's Quesarito.
Their verdict:
Spoiler:
"delicious. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this."

That's cool, it bothers me less if people want to comment on declining quality or something, opposed to just a "Burger King sucks!" type of response.

I liked my Quesarito and will likely buy more depending on the pricing. All of their menu is pretty much the same taste for me, delicious, but the extra cheese layer and that sauce makes this 'wetter', which I like.

Bastards at Del Taco hit me with an email this morning about the Cali Steak and Guac Epic Burrito. Conned me into swinging in today and getting one. It was delicious, but I really don't need french fries on my damn burrito (and the fries were subpar for Del Taco regardless).

I don't know about other regions, but "California Burritos" are pretty normal down here in Southern California at the more authentic mexican restaurants, with carne asada and french fries in them. I'll need to try Del Taco's.

I tried it a month or two ago and it was okay, but not something I'd get again. It's hard to justify the price since you can get one that's bigger and better at any local Mexican joint here in town for a buck or two more.

I would think it's more for people who don't live in California.

Agreed. Usually, the thread title changes are funny. This one's pretty forced and unfunny.

Had a Quesarito for lunch today. It is basically a beefy 5-layer with rice that is "grilled" in the crunchwrap machines. I had an Eddie Money moment as I started eating it, imagining that the hot gloopy mess was taking the expressway to my colon. It wasn't something I will try again.

Looks to be the new "it" commercial girl. Saw her in half a dozen different ones the last few days.

I tried the Quesarito today and thought it was okay, but nothing I'd ever get again.

That commercial isn't very accurate, though - you usually have to "pull" and tear through a TB soft shell. You can never get a bite off simply by chewing down.

Slightly off topic, in light of the TV Commercial Girl thread, but I'll throw down with the Redhead from the Wendy's ads any day.

But yeah, I probably shouldn't read this thread when I'm hungry, because I'm guaranteed to get fast food tonight.

I mean

I just gave this a shot today; it kind of just tasted like a bigger version of their spicy chicken sandwich to me, minus the bit of spice. It wasn't bad as far as chicken sandwiches go I suppose.

I have to say, I do like those new buns that Carls Jr has.

Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

Just tried the Ultimate Sriracha Chicken Sliders from White Castle, they weren't bad. The spiciest component was actually the crunchy jalapeños, which surprised me for all of the spicy ingredients on it.

Also, BK used to be a favorite of mine, but they really slid downhill since the mid 2000's. And that gross, steamy microwave taste seems to be more prominent each time I give it another shot.
