Any fans of Del Taco?

They have hamburgers which differentiates themselves from Taco Bell.

Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

I went to Carl's Jr. for the first time in a long time today. Man I can't believe how expensive it is. A Western Bacon Cheeseburger combo is like 11 bucks. They don't call them the 6 dollar burgers anymore because they are all over six bucks just for a burger (when they launched, they called them that because they were like 2.50 and supposedly worth the same as a six dollar restaurant burger). Combos are like 10 to 17 bucks before any upcharges.

I was joking that it made no sense that Matthew Mcconaughey does both Lincoln commercials and Carl's Jr. commercials, but I guess this is like upper class burgers now or something.

They’ve been overpriced for quite some time. Granted, their menu seems a little different than other burger joints but it isn’t that social. They do have $5-$6 lunches, but they are your typical “budget menu” items.

It was just amazing to me how expensive it's gotten. I still bought a western bacon because there was a special on the sandwich, and it was pretty big, but man who goes to a fast food place to throw down 15 bucks on a burger and fries?

Whoa ... where the heck do you live? I'm in california, and I've NEVER seen a $17 combo at Carls Jr before upcharges. What the heck costs that much?

I'm not sure if that link works but if I look there, a Western Bacon Cheeseburger combo is 12.03. The sandwich itself is "only" 5.49. Considering some of the sandwiches are like 10 bucks by themselves, I'm sure some combos would be a lot more.. Though the restaurant I went to yesterday had prices that were a little higher than this (crisscut fries were 4 bucks and here it's "only" 3.49)

OH, well you live in LA. You're not allowed to complain about high prices, it's a given

In Palm Springs, the Western Bacon Cheeseburger combo is only $7.50.

So, McDonalds caught on finally ... I would place a mobile order using the app for a deal, then do another deal in store when I got there. Today it popped up a message asking “do you want to redeem this deal now? All other deals will be locked for 60 minutes.” (Paraphrased)

Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

I wanted Taco Bell on my way home last night, but there were at least ten cars in the drive thru. I decided to stop at Wendy's instead. I tried the new Barbecue Cheeseburger Combo and it was pretty good. I had to wait on it, but they cooked it fresh. The only downside is that it was close to $10 for small double burger combo...

Yeah...the price blew my mind. I tried the one that's a Big Mac knock-off last week. Ordered a medium combo and it was over $10. Never again.

Yeah, I'm used to getting ripped off, but not to that extent. They have a two for 7 bucks on a few sandwiches, including the Western Bacon Cheeseburger. It used to be that 3.50 for just the burger was the regular price, not a deal, but there it is.

Yeah, I ran into this the other day at the drive through when I accidentally picked the wrong deal and I couldn't back out. The Mcdonalds app deals have been getting worse and worse, and now they're putting time limits (only usable before 11am, etc.) on them.

As for prices... I went to get Nacho Fries the other day and picked up a couple of regular tacos... man those things are expensive individually.

Just tried the McD's cheesy bacon fries. That was THE most disgusting fake cheese sauce I've ever had in my life. Oh and bacon ruins the flavor of a 1/4 pounder.

Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

Sounds pretty yucky and disgusting. But, it's probably the Kraft Mac and Cheese fake cheese in order to lure the kiddies in.

Crossing this off from my list. Mickey D's fries are great by themselves, the best in fast-food in my opinion. Why spoil them with fake cheese powder and imitation bacon "product"?

If you were in Fremont, CA there would be no line at the taco bell here

The Rattlesnake Burrito at Taco Bell was damn yummy.

I'm a Baconator combo guy at Wendy's so I'm used to a $10 combo there. Sucks, but I love the Baconator.

Re: The Fast Food Junkie Thread

It seems almost any "combo" now at fast food places is $10+. Even the "special" at TB, the $5 box is now no longer $5, but they surreptitiousy raised it up to $6 in January. + tax and we're at nearly $7 in Calif for the "special" now. The fries, at $1.29 are a good bargain, though!
