Argh! Why is this so hard! (looking for legal advice)

I just want a lawyer type to read over a contract, and tell me if I'm screwed.

I can e-mail it. It's only six pages long.

Yes, it involves intellectual property, but surely that's not so difficult?

Just post it here (please use spoiler tags) and we'll give you a consensus.

But chances are you're screwed.

Spoiler:
I would rather have an actual lawyer's opinion before I try to demand half a million dollars. Which I can prove they owe me, if I have understood my contract correctly.

Prepare to pay for it, IP lawyers don't come cheap unless you are related to them.

With that much on the line you do not want to hire a real lawyer to make sure it is not difficult?

Best of luck to you and your "lawyer type"

I think someone here knows a lawyer who'll work for cheap, the only thing is you have to marry a Chinese woman first.

I'm not even saying I want a lawyer to work for cheap. I want a lawyer whose receptionist doesn't blow me off.

If the receptionist is hot, then she can blow me off.

I'm not looking for someone who can do this for free, I just want someone who can DO it.

I can pay in money, shop credit or cookies.

Will you look over the contract, and offer me an educated opinion?

I buttonholed a couple of lawyers at a restaurant this evening. I'm not screwed.

No, but you're setting someone up for a nice double entendre or two ...

There is nothing sexy about lawyers.
