They can fly as far as Turkiminstan/Kazhkistan. There are hundreds of air fields in the Search Radius.

A target in the Middle East was the likely destination. I'm not sure we'll ever get the full story, I'm sure they will start "discovering" wreckage in a week or two.

My money is on this plane being far far underwater.

Malaysian airlines is primarily owned by the Malaysian government. The captain according to this report was a fierce supporter of the opposition leader. He also may have attended the trail. Maybe the pilot was upset and decided to take revenge against the government.

Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah was a fervent supporter of his country's opposition leader who was jailed for homosexuality - illegal in Malaysia - only hours before flight MH370 vanished with 239 passengers and crew on board, the Sunday Mirror can reveal.

This should have looked at much earlier.

Most likely in the ocean due to the plan not working, or just intentionally. Even if it's in a hanger somewhere, the passengers are certainly dead.

How was this not known earlier? Talk about motive.

And in a new twist, it emerged that the pilot's wife and three children moved out of the family's home the day before the plane's disappearance.

My theory doesn't seem no nutty now, does it? Plane was taken deliberately and flown for 7 hours. The search zone goes all the way up to Khazakstan.

The pilot taking this over because he was mad at the government doesn't really jive with the people that know him. I mean there are some people that would do this and then there are people who you know just wouldn't. From interviews with friends and neighbors they say there is just no way this guy would do something like this willingly. (Talking about the Pilot).

That's what the friends and neighbors say after virtually ever single horrifying event that takes place. Politics might not make hardly anyone homicidal/suicidal, but his wife moving out and taking the kids with her ramps that probability up dramatically.

This sounds like those stories about how all the Jewish employees at the World Trade Center took a vacation day in early September several years back...

The Daily Mail is reporting that the pilot Zaharie Shah not only supported the opposition leader Ibrahim he actually attended his trial just a few hours before the flight. Calling him a "fanatic".

Can't disagree with you. Maybe the family can be found and questioned. Was it a bad breakup or more of the wife protecting her kids from thinking her husband was going politically nutballs, and commented to her about scenarios with a plane.

Jibe/Jive.. Whatever. And I agree as well that just because that's what they say doesn't mean he still didn't flip out. But all them saying he wouldn't just deepens the mystery.. and I think it moves it from "yeah that probably happen" to still completely unknown.

Re: Malaysian Airlines Flight to China disappears carrying 239 passengers (4 American

There have been some interesting points raised in an earlier NY Times article, excerpts of which follow:

"Investigators have also examined data transmitted from the plane’s Rolls-Royce engines that showed it descended 40,000 feet in the span of a minute, according to a senior American official briefed on the investigation. But investigators do not believe the readings are accurate because the aircraft would most likely have taken longer to fall such a distance.
“A lot of stock cannot be put in the altitude data” sent from the engines, one official said. “A lot of this doesn’t make sense.”
The data, while incomplete and difficult to interpret, could still provide critical new clues as investigators try to determine what happened on Flight 370, which disappeared early last Saturday carrying 239 people from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing".

"An Asia-based pilot of a Boeing 777-200, who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to reporters, said an ascent above the plane’s service limit of 43,100 feet, along with a depressurized cabin, could have rendered the passengers and crew unconscious, and could be a deliberate maneuver by a pilot or a hijacker.
Other experts said that altitude changes would be expected if the pilots became disabled after the plane’s autopilot was disengaged. Changes in the weight distribution on the plane as fuel burned off would make the plane descend and climb repeatedly, though changes in course would be harder to explain.
American officials were concerned in the first few days after the plane disappeared that terrorists had brought it down. But as investigators have examined the flight manifest and looked into the two Iranian men who were on the plane traveling with stolen passports, they have become convinced that there is no clear connection to terrorism.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation interviewed family members of the Iranian men and used computer programs to determine whether they had ties to terrorists. Those efforts showed no such connections, leading the investigators to believe the men were smugglers".

When fully fueled the B777-200ER can fly up to about 16 to 18 hours, so the tanks were only 50% full. The perpetrator(s) did everything they could to render the plane invisible to radar and ACARS but there is an antenna on top of the fuselage which sends out a more rudimentary signal every hour. That is the ping/handshake that confirmed the plane was still airborne. My conclusion: it's at the bottom of the Indian Ocean.

While I believe this plane made a big splash, I will entertain the idea it landed somewhere. Doesn't seem to make much sense, but I'll pretend until it's found. Your idea is just nuts, though.

I don't feel like looking at a map. So the plane was supposed to go northwest to China but went southwest toward India or Pakistan?

I heard about the police raiding both pilots' homes, but nothing about the pilot's family leaving the day before plane takeoff.

Those personal stories were only reported by a tabloid. To be fair tabloids have broken major stories before and I wasn't quick to doubt them, but by now it would've been nice if a respected outlet backed them up. Nothing so far.

Cnn posted a story today and said this is the second time a flight "vanished" Some Air France flight in 2009 crashed going from Rio De Janeiro to Paris. The debris, bodies and black box weren't found until 2011.
