The hotter a woman is, the more her imperfections stand out. No one would notice/care about thumbs like that on a average looking woman.

You have boob guys, arse guys, leg guys, etc... I'm a hands (and to a lesser extent) feet guy. In a word, I would notice on ANY woman because I always look at hands. For example, a chick that bites her nails is a complete turn off for me, and I don't care how hot the rest of her is.

Me, I'm a woman guy - I try to take the whole package, and get an average of all the parts.

^Anyone curious, like me, can see it here:

(WTF? This forum destroys google maps short links)

I was skeptical.

There must be a daily meeting where everyone exchanges the incorrect packages and mail they receive with the other occupants.

That's truly bizarre. I found a blog about it.

So after Queens was annexed by NYC in 1898 and these small towns became more heavily urbanized, and farms were moving out and houses and businesses were moving in between them, the city decided to institute a uniform numbering system. However, a perfect grid, like the one in Manhattan and large stretches of Brooklyn, just couldn’t be accomplished in the sprawling county of Queens. It couldn’t be tamed that way, with uneven coastlines and hilly areas. So a specialized plan had to be implemented to make sure that a 60th Avenue, say, would be on the same latitude across the borough, generally speaking, and 60th Street would be on the same longitude.

But often there were more streets than necessary, not fewer. So numbered streets other than Avenues and Streets had to be added. For east-west streets the pattern is that the first in the series is always Avenue, followed by Road, Drive, Court and Terrace. For north-south streets, it’s Street, followed by Place and then by Lane. In special cases with weird street layouts, like Fresh Meadows, Crescent and Circle were added into the mix.

They do that around here too (Phoenix and Suburbs). Add in all of the whirly starts and stops of the newer suburbs and houses/streets that look the same. Streets start and end every quarter mile.

Thank God for Google Maps!

Just change all the "60"s to "Peachtree" and you could be in Atlanta.

I read that twice and although fascinating, I still can't figure out why all the streets are named "60", except for "it's a longitude/latitude" thing. Huh...

Re: 42nd Random Pic Thread to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everyt

Here in Fairbanks, AK they sometimes change street names when going around a curve. Granted that it's sometimes a hairpin curve, but one minute you're on one street, you go around a curve and you're on a different street. It can get so confusing when Google Maps tells you to "turn left on A Street" and there is no junction, just a hairpin curve. There are a lot of errors with Google Maps (AND Apple Maps too) around this area.
