I think maybe they're supposed to be a reputable poll house. However, 59+35+26=...

Fun list.

#5 - I guess because Batman's father is dead
#24 - George Orwell wrote 1984 which dealt with Big Brother's surveillance.

I don't get the scrabble one, but I'm ashamed to admit it.

Did Rasmussen falsify their own data for that poll?

Spoiler:
Rasmussen didn't falsify the data. They were just playing around with the numbers. And the Fox graphic wasn't very clear.

Very Likely - 35%
Somewhat Likely - 24%
Not Very Likely - 21%
Not Likely At All - 5%
Not Sure - 15%

This was their analysis of the data:

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Americans say itís at least somewhat likely that some scientists have falsified research data to support their own theories and beliefs about global warming. Thirty-five percent (35%) say itís Very Likely. Just 26% say itís not very or not at all likely that some scientists falsified data.
They combined the "very likely" (35%) and "somewhat likely" (24%) to get "at least somewhat likely" (59%). They also combined the "not very likely" and "not likely at all" to get 26%.

That's what I thought when I first saw it but I didn't think it could be that stupid so I wondered what I was missing.

Well now I feel bad for missing something that Dave dismissed as being too stupid to be the actual joke.

We sometimes overlook the "too dumb and obvious to be right" things

This list should be titled:"The 28 Kinda Ironic Things That I found today with a Google Search"

Assuming it's not photoshopped, #27 is borderline infuriating.

I thought the Batman one was suggesting that anyone really into Batman would be a lonely virgin like the stereotype and thus not be a father.

Which is a damn shame cause I thought Damien Wayne was hilarious on In Living Color.

RIP, Homey the Clown.

I think it's just a reference to the fact that Batman's father is DEAD.

Thank you! As the parent of a Type 1 diabetic I find the lack of awareness frustrating.

(For those who care, Type 1 diabetics cannot produce insulin. It is an auto-immune condition that does not go away; the exact cause is unknown but it is not obesity or sugary diets. Yet, every time you hear "diabetes" mentioned in the same breath as children, the next words are "childhood obesity." )
